I can see where people are coming from with their opinions to this song. When I first heard it a couple of years ago, I agreed with you all saying that Avril has lost her creativity, and is behaving like... When, lets just say the dregs of female society and leave it at that.

However, after analysing it a little and watching the music video, I must say that I think this is a mockery of those trying to obtain guys and steal them away. Equally, it's a bit of a mockery of 'nerd-like' girlfriends. Just the tone Avril sings this in is like saying 'God, this is how damn pathetic these people are'. I think it's quite a talent to be able to do something like that and make it have this double-meaning.

Alternatively, I could be totally wrong, and Avril could just be having some fun with a bit of pop music and cheeky lyrics that are a bit lazy, but with a catchy beat no less. I mean, she did write 'What the Hell' in her 'Goodbye Lullaby' album... That's a bit like this too, just with far more meaning and a bit less crass.

Regardless, I think it's a bit unfair to stereotype the people that listen and enjoy this kind of music -- Avril's fan base is not reserved for teenage girls, and even if it was, what's the problem with that? I'm not a teenager myself anymore (!), but I don't really understand the way people say 'this is the kind of thing teenage girls listen to' as though that's the ultimate insult. Just sayin'.

This song is so funny. She's a girl, can't she act like a girl. You kids just hate her because she's not depressed, emo-ish punk whatever anymore. lol Maturity is so overrated especially in the entertainment industry. My god.

You may now go back and suck on your horrible life and listen to the many variety of depress artists that will gladly cater to your taste. go fuck off. lol

I think the meaning of this song is pretty straightforward. Sassy girl thinks she could be a better girlfriend to some guy for various reasons. Lol.

This song seems ridiculously immature.. like something she could've written before her debut which is sort of disappointing, especially since she's like 22 or something now, and this song sounds like its from the mind of a 15 year old. (no offense to any 15 year olds intended) Not a fave song from her, hopefully her entire new album doesn't consist of this "catchy" drivel. :)

you stupid naive f**ks. i'm not an avril fan by any means, but this song, and video i found hilarious. it's a blatent stab at the bubble-headed whorish antics of todays society, and at paris hilton and other paris-ites.

avril has the ability to write very deep and soulful lyrics. that ability hasn't gone to waste. this song makes me think MORE of her.

any celebrity daring to take a stab at the complete d****ebags out there is a hero in my eyes.

watch the video, actually listen to the song and the tone it's sung in. maybe you could actually learn to find true meanings in songs, instead of just pretending you know whats going on.

I'm not sure how I feel about this song. I thought Avril was showing a more "mature" side of her in her last album, and then she comes out with this song which sounds like it's directed to the "little girl teen crowds."

But it is catchy, so I guess that's all that matters these days

This song is sooo stupid "she's like 'so whatever'" ? Very deep... (sarcasm for anyone that doesn't get that) I feel sorry for anyone who like this song, or Avril Lavigne for that matter!
