Housewife Lyrics

Two bodies pressed together
Two boys are falling hard
The smell of sweat and leather
A kinky greeting card

Crazy about each other
We both have fucked-up pasts
But when we are together
We have a fucking blast

I wanna be a housewife
What's so wrong with that?
I wanna be a housewife, yeah
And that's just where I'm at

I'm making guacamole
He's working on the car
When he grills turkey burgers
He knows I like them charred

I like to wash the dishes
I like to scrub the floors
Don't mind doing his laundry
What are boyfriends for?

I wanna be a housewife
What's so wrong with that?
I wanna be a housewife, yeah
And that's just where I'm at

I wanna have his baby
I want to wear his ring
He drives me fuckin' crazy
I am his everything

I wanna be a housewife
What's so wrong with that?
I wanna be a housewife, yeah
And that's just where I'm at

I wanna be a housewife
What's so wrong with that?
Can't wait till he's in my life, yeah
Cause we haven't met
We haven't met yet
We haven't met yet
We haven't met yet

This is such an awesome song. Why has no one commented on it? I think Jay Brannan's honesty is really refreshing and I love the sincere, unapologetic tone to this song. He knows that "real men" shouldn't wanna be housewives but he does and sees nothing wrong with it. I think it's brilliant.

I love "and that's just where I'm at." Maybe he won't always, but right now, to be a housewife is all he wants. It really speaks to the beautiful tentativeness of our desires. Love it.

He wants to be a gay housewife, which is impossible. He's not female and he can't be married (only state-married, which is absent of God's sacrament). Interesting song, but rather silly. However, whatever dreams a person has are his/hers, and thus important. It often takes two (one of each sex) to give children all that they require in the way of role models and different persepectives, and staying home to 'raise' the family is quite honorable.
