Tonight I'm staring at the moonlight
Tonight I'm wondering how this could've felt so right
And I could say it was a good time
But I can hardly say a thing
He's got you right where he wants you
Right where he wants you

He's going outside in the middle of the night with you
Tell me what I'm supposed to do
No I'm fine, I can go another time with you
But tell me why would I want to

And will you still be feeling alright
In the morning with the sun creeping through the blinds?
And will you say it was a good time?
And you will you tell him anything?
He's got you right where he wants you
Right where he wants you

He's going outside in the middle of the night with you
Tell me what I'm supposed to do
No I'm fine, I can go another time with you
But tell me why would I want to
He's going outside in the middle of the night with you
Tell me what I'm supposed to do
No I'm fine, I can go another time with you
But tell me why would I want to

And I've been away for far too long it seems
And this new group of friends is making me, ready again to leave
I'm ready again to leave

He's going outside in the middle of the night with you
Tell me what I'm supposed to do
No I'm fine, I can go another time with you
But tell me why would I want to
He's going outside in the middle of the night with you
Tell me what I'm supposed to do
No I'm fine, I can go another time with you
But tell me why would I want to
But tell me why would I want to

okay so to me it sounds like this guy and girl used to have a relationship and broke up but they keep hooking up.

but that's just what came to my mind..

rockstaryeah hit the nail on the head. They used to have a relationship, but then they broke up. The girl hooked up with another guy, but every so often she sleeps with the original guy. The original guy likes the sex but I think he regrets it afterwards and wonders why he keeps wanting to do it.

Yeh so... To me, the chorus makes it sound like a guy that was supposed to be getting with a girl (not going out or anything official) but then at a party or something she goes off with some other guy and hes sayin ah ok... well i could go another time with you but now you'v gone off with this other guy why would i want to?! lol and with the way he says "no im fine" as if hes talking to the girl saying "no its alright do what ay want, but dont expect me to be waiting after".

Yeh i think that form teh chorus

Tonight I'm staring at the moonlight (reflective of a good night ahead?!) Tonight I'm wondering how this could've felt so right (now the chorus is happening hes wondering how/why he was so opptomisitic of teh night ahead) And I could say it was a good time ("could") But I can hardly say a thing (Cant say it was a good time now)

    My thoughts

actually i think him staring at the moonlight is him being lonely - it's probably a best friend who wnats to date his friend, and she's totally insensitive and forgets about him each time and each time goes out with this guy who mistreats her and she runs to her best friend but he can't bring himself to care anymore b/c she's left him so many times

Seems to me that the guy used to be in a relationship with this girl and for whatever reason he had to go away ("And I've been away for far too long it seems") but when he comes back to possibly pick things up where they left off he discovers that she's been sleeping around and picked up a crew of friends who aren't the best... ("And this new group of friends is making me, ready again to leave"). Then he basically starts asking her loaded questions about how she really feels about how she is behaving ("And will you still be feeling alright In the morning with the sun creeping through the blinds? And will you say it was a good time? And you will you tell him anything?"), followed by a warning that the guy just wants sex from her and that she is just screwing herself.

    My Interpretation

I agree with Spratty59 on this. He was hoping to get something started, I feel. Maybe not just hook-up but maybe a relationship as he talks of how "It felt so right", which could be referring to how it felt like some was there with her. But, she runs off with someone else. So, by running off with the other guy, he questions what it is he saw in her in the first place. Even if he gets another chance, does he really want to take it? (No I'm fine, I can go another time with you, But tell me why would I want to).

I feel the verse: "(And will you still be feeling alright In the morning with the sun creeping through the blinds? And will you say it was a good time? And you will you tell him anything? He's got you right where he wants you Right where he wants you")

Is the singer wondering if the morning after this girl and this guy hook up she will tell him she had a good time and if she will fell ashamed. It also conveys the other guy is manipulative and really has an ulterior motive for his actions.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
