I definitely see this to be about friendship. It's so beautiful, I can't get over it.

To me its a friend observing another friend in a really bad state. And they can see that they're not being honest with themselves or anyone else. It's also really clear that if they just let go and be honest then that will be the ultimate release from their pain. And they just want them to hurry, because they're afraid of it getting even worse and losing their friend.

Thats how I see it. And I love this song!

I think that this song is a message to a friend who took advantage of another friend's patience and understanding to (possibly a problem or situation) and the friend is now telling him that he needs someone to save his friend. There is also the feeling that the friend who has reached his limit is only going to wait for so long "hurry though, there's undertow" speaks to me that he will not wait on this friend forever.

Good song though, going on one of my emotional playlists ;P

This song is about a friend who is going through major turmoil and a serious problem. The friend is warning them to not be swallowed up by this problem "there is undertow." "I dont want to lose you" They want to be confided in before the friend become enveloped by this problem. The friend is slowly fading away "bright stars fade"etc...

i think this song about a friend being honest and patient with another friend who really needs it...it's an emergemcy that they know this information...to let go of what they are doing or he'll lose them ...like a friend pleading
