Off Kilter Lyrics
My belly aches from you
And the countless times that I try to relate to you
Knowing that I bit off more than I can chew
My mouth is full of words that taste as bad as you
Swallowing my tongue sounds like the best in store for me
It's got to be for me
So long sing away good time
This is my goodbye
This is my farewell (x2)
I love again
I love again
Hey here's the second part
The charge is set and I don't wanna wait around to see what happens next
It's too late I said this charge is set
The fuse is lit and I don't wanna wait around
Running outta time
If I were you I'd run as fast as hell
So long sing away good time
This is my goodbye
This is my farewell (x2)
I love again
I love again
And the countless times that I try to relate to you
Knowing that I bit off more than I can chew
My mouth is full of words that taste as bad as you
Swallowing my tongue sounds like the best in store for me
It's got to be for me
This is my goodbye
This is my farewell (x2)
I love again
The charge is set and I don't wanna wait around to see what happens next
It's too late I said this charge is set
The fuse is lit and I don't wanna wait around
Running outta time
If I were you I'd run as fast as hell
This is my goodbye
This is my farewell (x2)
I love again

Im Lovin this song! its gonna be awesome when these guys really take off and more people get to hear their stuff. Im still tryin to figure out exactly what they're on about and find some deeper meaning in here. I think it's clear kenny is singing about a relationship gone bad in verse 1, but still trying to figure out the 'i love again' part and whether the reference to an explosion is literal or metaphorical. Any insights would be of great interest to me. again, sweet song!
This band is awsome, i don't know why more people havnt commented!
yes this band do rock. loved birds of tokyo since day one. (get it lol, there first albums called day one!).
i always thought it was about getting with a girl and perhaps seeing her again. but now that ive see teh lyrics it doesn't quite make sense. i always thought he sang "as you, swallow in my tongue...sounds like the best in store for me" and then i thought it was"so long, see u in a good time" so anyway i dont really know what its about. second verus doesn't really make sense at all. still totally awsome though.
Yep, great song. I think he has decided that he is leaving the girl. I always thought it was "i'll love again' rather than "I love again"... perhaps showing that he is looking towards his future without her. And the second verse is a bit confusing but I think it's metophorical, saying he has made his final decision, he is leaving, and suggests that she should leave too.
I take this song pretty literally, although it's metaphoric. It's simply about when you get to that point in a relationship you know it's time to call it quits.
The first verse I think refer to the fighting happening in the relationship. He's trying to see things her way and work it out but it's just impossible because she's so unreasonable. The fourth line I always imagined referred to vile words he's throwing back at her, saying she's brought him down to her level, but I'm not sure. Especially since the 5th line seems to be a 'cat got your tongue' type lyric, but instead she's bitten it off and swallowed it, leaving him lost for words. Though that sounds contradictory, doesn't it? So perhaps instead he's saying that he has all these mean things built up that he wants to say to her, but instead he thinks it's more prudent to keep it to himself and just move on, that it'll be better for him as a person.
At the chorus he's saying his goodbyes (it's "see you in good time", by the way). He has this "so be it" attitude - he's not that remorseful because he figures he'll find someone else to love. "I'll love again." He's not going to dwell on her.
Second verse is even easier. He's basically saying that this relationship is doomed to fail. The fuse is lit and it can't be stopped - everything is going to explode. The relationship is going downhill, so he's getting out of there before the shit really hits the fan. He's telling her she should do the same.
I love this song and just thinking about it has me so excited for this Friday's gig. No matter how many times I see these guys it's never enough.
it seems pretty straight forward to me.. About a relationship gone bad..

first verse: Trying to relate the other other person but realising that its not gonna work, Having a lot of hateful things you want to say but knowing that it not going to help.
