Shadowfeet Lyrics

Walking, stumbling
On these shadowfeet
Toward home, a land that I've never seen

I am changing
Less and less asleep
Made of different stuff than when I began

And I have sensed it all along
Fast approaching is the day

When the world has fallen out from under me
I'll be found in you, still standin'
When the sky rolls up and mountains fall on their knees
When time and space are through
I'll be found in you

There's distraction
Buzzing in my head
Saying in the shadows it's easier to stay

But I've heard rumours
Of true reality
Whispers of a well-lit way

When the world has fallen out from under me
I'll be found in you, still standin'
When the sky rolls up and mountains fall on their knees
When time and space are through
I'll be found in you

You make all things new
You make all things new
You make all things new
You make all things
You make all things

When the world has fallen out from under me
I'll be found in you, still standin'
When the sky rolls up and mountains fall on their knees
When time and space are through
I'll be found in you

When the world has fallen out from under me
I'll be found in you, still standin'
Every fear and accusation under my feet
When time and space are through
I'll be found in you
When time and space are through
I'll be found in you
When time and space are through
I'll be found in you

I think that Shadowfeet basically means that we are not of this world, it is our earthly home but we long for our heavenly home...things get tough here and drag us down but we will always be "found in HIM". Love this song!!!!

Those lyrics seem to be pointing towards God, how no matter what he will always be with her.

Brooke Fraser has been influenced greatly by the writings of C.S. Lewis (obviously). This song is about his book 'The Great Divorce' (definitely worth a look. It's short and easy to read). Lewis paints the picture of Heaven and Hell and the afterlife. When everyone dies (in the story) they board a bus and enter into these green plains where everything is so real, and they are but mere shadows. Every blade of grass hurts their feet as if they were stepping on daggers, as Lewis states in the book, "Reality is harsh on the feet of shadows." But the...

This talks of seeing/hearing through worldly eyes-not having an open mind, then it goes on to speak of the truth "true reality" of God and the path of enlightenment

Has anyone read C.S. Lewis's The Great Divorce? The entire premise of this song seems to be based off of that book. It's an incredible book if anyone is interested in reading it.

Who could possibly listen to this song without being completely changed. God is so faithful. He has so much love for us, its like we dont know hwat to do with it sometimes we just push it away because we just cant understand it or cant recognize it as love at first.

But not matter how much we may push away or stumble fall, COLLAPSE in our failures, God will make all things new. God you are so Good. In the midst of my circumstance I praise you because no matter what tomorrow brings you are greater, you are stronger, i will ALWAYS BE FOUND IN YOU AND THAT IS SO INCREDIBLY COMFORTING

Walking stumbling on these shadowfeet, towards home, a land that I\'ve never see.\n\n"The path of the just is as a shining light, as dawn, that shines brighter and brighter unto the fullness of day"\n\nHaving believed, you have received the assurance of eternal life, light has dawned in your heart, and as surely as we see the natural day progress, that dawn carries on into the fullness of the Day. For He who begins a work in you is faithful to complete it!\n\nDistractions will abound, but you\'ve already heard the Truth, about the Way, the well lit way, the Way of light, and so you\'ve been already been translated from darkness to light, and you stay conscious of that.\n\nYour sins are forgiven, and you are made new, you are made of different stuff than before. You are not who you were, no matter what happens, you are certainly not who you were. Your mind is being renewed, you no longer think the way you did.\n\nSo you continue on the way, towards home, for that is where you are from, your citizenship is of heaven. You may fall, you may stumble, but nothing can seperate you from the love of God in Christ.\n\nIn all this walk, whatever happens, you are in Him, and He in you, whatever may happen, that\'s where you will be found, in Him. Life Eternal. He makes all things new.
