I think it speaks to friendship and how some friendships are just skin deep. You have to make sure you know which ones are only skin deep so you know who you can rely on in time of crisis.

I always thought, as a kid that they were singing "better watch out for the skindee"... Wtf a skindee is i'll never know... but that's what I thought..

I think this is a very profound song. We all suffer disappointment sometime in life when we find we're let down by someone we thought we could trust.

To me, this song is a caution, but at the same it's quite optimistic - recognises that sometimes we'll all feel low, sometimes we all need other people and human companionship, and that's good - just be careful that the friends and people we draw close to us are genuine.

Yeah right on lighthumor it's a warning to remain guarded, stoic, watch who you believe, who you trust and how much of what you share as there are 2 of each of us the person we like to think we are and portray and the person others perceive us to be from the outside looking in. Great song live the line and how true "some days there's things on your mind you should keep" especially in the times we now live most having lost the art or never learned the art of engaging our fellow human. It actually has vast consequences as most would not comprehend how f2f conversation keeps people in their proper fighting weight level and we are less inclined to be abusive , lie or mislead others when we are looking them in the eye. Everyone is an over confident keyboard warrior same with the protected minorities who despise being talked down to or rude offensive gutter mouths yet their confidence is wrongly inflated they think they can be that person to the majorities it seems more hate speech coming from the minorities up stream than down. Rarely are the outlandish persons extreme in their presentation and speech true representations of the groups they tend to speak for it's premeditated propaganda and manipulation by higher ups often who don't give a rats for the real cause or minority it's much deeper and evil. Watch out for the skin deep guys...spent many years chasing pretty girls only to be hurt and disappointed. Eventually I would turn them down claiming you will never be as good as your are in my mind and imagination so rather keep those fonder memories and thoughts...lol

I love this song. There's a cautionary tale here about how few 'real friends' we all have. Somebody might be a right laugh but perhaps not someone to lean on in a time of need or share your dark secret with. We'll probably have fewer than 10 real friends in our lifetime and many fail the medical due to weakness, vanity etc.
