how shall i to heaven aspire? Lyrics

we have our lives together
and we want nothing more
then we should die together
down here upon the shore

my lips upon your neck
and your legs around my chest
surrounded by every--
thing that we love the best

so we don't have to falter
and see it drawn so slight
cause i would run more proudly
between your thighs tonight

i wanna be a shining example
i wanna be a shining example
i wanna be a shining example
i wanna be a shining example

take these things that i have given
steal five years of my indecision
the things we make, they shall be written
with your wings and my voice of brass bells ringing

well, i wanna be a shining example
i wanna be a shining example
i wanna be a shining example
i wanna be a shining example
i wanna be a shining example
i wanna be a shining example

we have our lives together
and we want nothing less
and should we die tonight, dear
there will be nothing left

steal five years of my indecision (maybe?)

with your wings and my voice of brass bells ringing

the first part of this song sounds an awful lot like will oldham

i thought it could be "steal five years of my indecision" as well. just didn't think it made a lot of sense. but, as i'm not the only one who thinks that, it's now official. ;) thanks, zoraster!

I've always heard the line as "steeled by years of my indecision," which I think makes more sense in context.

As in:

"tr.v. steeled, steel·ing, steels

  1. To cover, plate, edge, or point with steel. 2. To make hard, strong, or obdurate; strengthen: He steeled himself for disappointment." http://www.thefreedictionary.com/steel
