We Dance Alone

lots of train references in this one. and traveling references in general (and moving. as would be dancing. is moving one's body). among other things.

i.e. train stuff like:

crissed not crossed (train tracks) let the scenery pass (looking out a window) getting darker (could be going into a tunnel)

and other stuff that fits pretty good to but i won't push it. more importantly in me getting this vibe is how the music has a chugging along beat to it.

also the part about trying to get back on as it was turning around, well sorta (with all the other things, ya know) other words used here that could in a vague way give this vibe as well: crashed, wreckage, gravel train, rocks, moving too fast, ditch road, over water.

also theres a line here that's sorta similar to what's found in his song Volcano.

"i waited for a fire" to come out of the ground i tried to get back on the world as it was turning around"

This song gives me the feeling of like... a party that's at someone's (rather large) condo and there's a terrace where there are people just mingling around, drinking out of red dixie cups, and there you are with your girl/guy just dancing in the twilight. In the summer time. Alone.

I'm not sure why, but that's what I always think of when I listen to this song.
