Stood by my missus in the lobby.
Asked to carry bags of Madame.
Elevators rush to the sea.
Rummaged through my coat for the key.
After tea lounged on the sofa.
My lady spoke of everyone she knew there.
She paused.
Grabbed my wrist.
Said, "Now, darling, there he is."
I looked up.
My surroundings sturred and smeared.
His eyes calm and distant.
His mouth so severe.
Though half his age I was.
I've never been in love.
Before then.
Max, you're so distraught.
Perhaps, I'll help you out.
Your wife was so much more than me.
But I can be her now.
I can be her now.
Rush down the stairs to that man.
Mr. Summer, he nodded his head.
With laughter in his eyes.
A smirk followed close behind.
"We're strangers but I'm sure we should be married."
I spoke to my master.
She nodded her head.
Though I was young and scared.
With Max standing there.
We took our first step.
Max, you're so distraught.
Perhaps, I'll help you out.
Your wife was so much more than me.

this song is good it does a pretty good part protraying the book well the FIRST part of the book anyway a lot of things in it our actually said in the book i sort of wish it was more about the ending and climax. that was way intense
Stood by my missus in the lobby. (the soon to be second Mrs. de Winter was with her 'master' in the lobby) Asked to carry bags of Madame. (umm idk wut that is?) Elevators rush to the sea. Rummaged through my coat for the key. After tea lounged on the sofa. (after they had tea they went to sit on the sofa) My lady spoke of everyone she knew there. (her 'master' was really into gossip and talked about all the people she saw at the hotel) She paused. (she stopped talking after she saw something...) Grabbed my wrist. Said, "Now, darling, there he is." (LOOK! It's Max de Winter!) I looked up. My surroundings sturred and smeared. (I looked at him and I was overswept with a feeling...)
His eyes calm and distant. (I think this is like when they went out on the drives together and once they were on like a cliff place and when she looked at him his eyes were so far away) His mouth so severe. (?) Though half his age I was. (She was only like 20, he was like 40) I've never been in love. Before then. (She fell in love with him)
Max, you're so distraught. Perhaps, I'll help you out. Your wife was so much more than me. (From what everyone thought, Rebecca was an angel and the greatest wife in the world) But I can be her now. (I can be your wife now, though) I can be her now. (Yes i can...)
Rush down the stairs to that man. (I think this was when she was going to say good bye before she was leaving to New York with her 'master'?) Mr. Summer, he nodded his head. (Who that? I dont remember) With laughter in his eyes. A smirk followed close behind. "We're strangers but I'm sure we should be married." (Max said that she can either go to New York or marry him and come home to Manderley with him) I spoke to my master.(She talked with her master about it, she said shes making a mistake but she let her go.) She nodded her head. (She said Yes, go.) Though I was young and scared. (She was very scared about being his wife and living with Max) With Max standing there. We took our first step.
Then she goes off and lives with him and the book is REALLY REALLY good, its so surprising at the end! leolizzard is right, the song only covers about like the first half of the book, when they meet, when they decide to live together and be husband and wife. love the song =]
Yup, I read this book for my A level English Literature. Actually really enjoyed it. Max is the name Rebecca called him, the narrator [you never find out her name] doesn't refer to him as Max I don't think. It's Maxim de Winter
