I Shall Be Released (Bob Dylan cover) Lyrics

They say everything can be replaced,
Yet every distance is not near.
So I remember every face
Of every man who put me here.
I see my light come shining
From the west unto the east.
Any day now, any day now,
I shall be released.

They say every man needs protection,
They say every man must fall.
Yet I swear I see my reflection
Some place so high above this wall.
I see my light come shining
From the west unto the east.
Any day now, any day now,
I shall be released.

Standing next to me in this lonely crowd,
Is a man who swears he's not to blame.
All day long I hear him shout so loud,
Crying out that he was framed.
I see my light come shining
From the west unto the east.
Any day now, any day now,
I shall be released.

I'm a bit confused as to who did the original. I thought it was Bob Dylan, but someone told me it was some obscure person.

But anyways, I love the collaboration of Travis' and Claudio's voices, and Claudio's guitar work and so forth.

It was Dylan.

Why would he come here anyway? lol

I think it's cool that a band like Coheed would cover a guy like Dylan. Not my favorite Bob song, but it was still pretty good.

It was definitely Dylan who did the original. I loved seeing Travis play it with Warren Haynes.
