Thinking About You Lyrics

Yesterday, I saw the sun shining
And the leaves were falling down, softly
And my cold hands need a warm, warm touch
And I was thinking about you

Here I am, looking for signs to lead me
You hold my hand, but do you really need me
I guess it's time for me to let you go

But I'll be thinking about you
I'll be thinking about you

So when you sail across the ocean waters
And you reach the other side, safely
Could you smile a little smile for me
Cause I'll be thinking about you
I'll be thinking about you
I'll be thinking about you
I'll be thinking about you

I think the meaning translates as her moving on with her life and letting her partner go, but saying y'know, i'll still be thinking about you where ever i go, i won't forget you.

I defenitly think this song is about getting over another person and moving on with your life. Trying to move on but still thinking about the other person. And knowing that the other person always will be a part of you.

Ok I just got it I'm pretty sure.

  1. Yesterday I saw the sun shinin' And the leaves were fallin' down softly My cold hands needed a warm, warm touch And I was thinkin' about you
    • she misses him . I think it just sounds like a lover song, not one of parents (if its even about her maybe its just ambigious)
  2. But here I am lookin' for signs of leaving You hold my hand, but do you really need me? I guess it's time for me to let you go And I'll be thinkin' about you -Do you really need me, I think its like the person shes talking about (maybe her) doesn't think he/she likes her enough? so she needs to let him go but will think about him/her and what it could of been? Or maybe the other way around.

What do you guys think about my interpretation.

  1. When you sail across the ocean waters And you reach the other side safely Could you smile a little smile for me? 'Cause I'll be thinkin' about you I'll be thinkin' about you I'll be thinkin' about you I'll be thinkin' about you
    • I feel like this part, reconfirms it more that like the person shes talking about (maybe her) be thinking a lot about him/her, because he/she means a lot to that person. maybe this is somones parents or a friend or relative . I think a lover.

I think that Stella-Marie is right- and so is VelocityJE even though he/she was a little harsh! we love to know if you like the song, but this isn't youtube, your blog, etc. it's where i , and others, come to think about things on a deeper level, like a corner coffee shop with beatniks playing, not like a festival of people going"oh.... my... GAWD!"
