Amnesty Please Lyrics
Astounding! Let us consider our current state
A string of events and I tied the first knot
You´re an anchor and I won't be drug down
Because no matter what
Burn this to ashes
Ashes and framework
A dying man needs to die, as a tired man needs to sleep
And there comes a time when it is wrong, as well as useless, to resist
Burn this to ashes
Ashes and framework
You are forgiven
But this just does not mean that what was done is okay
Trust is destroyed for you and me
What's done is done and this will never be right
The sun has gone dry
So we can sleep forever
You can be free to turn your back
I'm not holding a gun
Trust has been destroyed for you and me
What's done is done and this will never be right
The sun has gone dry
So we can sleep forever
Burn this to ashes
Ashes and framework
Trust has been destroyed for you and me
What's done is done and this will never be right
The sun has gone dry
So we can sleep forever
And I've been so bitter towards you
And I've been so bitter
I've been so bitter towards you
A string of events and I tied the first knot
You´re an anchor and I won't be drug down
Because no matter what
Ashes and framework
And there comes a time when it is wrong, as well as useless, to resist
Ashes and framework
But this just does not mean that what was done is okay
Trust is destroyed for you and me
What's done is done and this will never be right
The sun has gone dry
So we can sleep forever
I'm not holding a gun
What's done is done and this will never be right
So we can sleep forever
Ashes and framework
What's done is done and this will never be right
So we can sleep forever
And I've been so bitter

it think its funny how christians will buy anything with a Cross on it. Sheep. This song however, and Norma Jean are fucking amazing. I dont think this song has a message so much as a Statement, but the way it makes me want to Break shit is a feeling only crazy Norma Jean can get through.
this song is fucking awesome.
I'm pretty sure this song has to do with two people (or more) that can't put the past behind them. One side feels they forgive the other but their trust will never be regained. I kind of get the vibe that this song isn't just about one persons feelings. It's more of reflections of what both sides are feeling.
This is one killer song.
Or maybe people that know they will be forgiven so they use Jesus and do watever they do anyways.
its definately got a two sides aspect. and Jesus would not engage in an argument with a person. it would more be a person argueing with God. "holding a gun" "been so bitter towards you"; lines like that suggest some type of argument/battle. so i would have to agree with systembranden
it has to do with how GOD can forgive you. ut you shouldnt abuse that. its not right just doing something bad only cause you know youll be forgiven. "You are forgiven But this just does not mean that what was done is okay"
i think the part where it says Burn this to ashes Ashes to framework means that maybe what u did was wrong and you know that it was wrong so you like kinda want to forget about it, like "burning it to ashes"...but what you did says something about you..like "your framework"..kinda like who you are..your frame
the right meaning is DEFINITELY as told by Slaterade
i can also add that its about a dying man that has done great sins in his life and is now panicking and trying to resist his encounter with God. Even though he has been for given and shall not fear God, there won't be the same trust as before between them.
I think that its showing he got so caught up into someone he started to neglect god somewhat. and that the part where it looks like an arguement is a flash back talking about the person. but then towards the end it moves to the present showing that god forgives him and that he shouldn't have negelcted god because god would never neglect him back.. anyone agree?
