Saints Lyrics
This was my call to your arms
Sounding silent alarms
Will you love me when you hear me lie?
This last time
I've seen a sea of change
This fleeting love that leaves me alone
This last time
Lift me now from this pain
You know the way to bring me home
As we die
We've dimmed our lights past darkness
Hiding our way back from this
Swallowing every glimpse of our faithfulness
Who will guide us home when we cannot see?
The weak to follow the lead
It's taking over our lives
As we live, as we die
Sounding silent alarms
Will you love me when you hear me lie?
This last time
I've seen a sea of change
This fleeting love that leaves me alone
This last time
Lift me now from this pain
You know the way to bring me home
As we die
We've dimmed our lights past darkness
Hiding our way back from this
Swallowing every glimpse of our faithfulness
Who will guide us home when we cannot see?
The weak to follow the lead
It's taking over our lives
As we live, as we die

What is taking over our lives?
Oh my gosh...love this song!! I love how the screaming (roaring) sounds and the singing parts are utterly amazing! The video for this was premiered on TVU's Battery yesterday, very interesting, I loved it!
Now about what this song means...obviously about death I guess and what is taking over our lives, not quite sure....
probably my favourite DTR song, along w/ Pall Bearer
i really like this song...but i doesn't say anything to me. it just makes me feel better when i listen to it
I saw this on the gospel music channel. lol (this band is with Solid State Records, sub category for the record company "Tooth and Nail" which is a christian rock record label.)
what i think it means is dying and going to heaven. and then it says....
"We've dimmed our lights past darkness Hiding our way back from this Swallowing every glimpse of our faithfulness Who will guide us home when we cannot see?"
its like talking about jesus guiding you to heaven, and showing you the way, even though you don't know, or can't "see" god or anything.
and when it also says "Will you love me when you hear me lie? " its like saying: even though you may lie, and stuff, you still are accepted to heaven.
This has to be one of the best songs that Destroy the Runner had done. The meaning behind this song does reflect on death but in a sense of that we will die. The only thing we had to worry about is the sin we all commit before we die. But when we go to heaven we see a sea of change. The whole change is when we see the streets of gold. Jesus will guide us when we are lost.
First off I think this song has the most epic chorus. Of any song. Ever. lol. Not being christian this song just makes me think of death in general and the act of dying.
