Uncle Bobby Lyrics
Some people's stories, they go nowhere at all
Some people's songs are catchy, but they don't touch the soul
But yours are like a feeding tube right through my ears
They fatten up my dreams and run through my bloodstreams
Uncle Bobby
Uncle Bobby
Uncle Bobby, I love you so
Uncle Bobby
I love you, love you, Uncle
Uncle Bobby, you'll never know
I love you not like a husband to have and to hold
I love you not like a child to do as they're told
I love you not like a sculpture love her mold
I love you not like a masterpiece bought and sold
Uncle Bobby
I love you, love you, Uncle
Uncle Bobby, I love you so
Uncle Bobby, I love you, love you, love you, Uncle
Uncle Bobby, you'll never know
I know you're just a man of flesh
And a bit of sand and blood and cash
But I'm so glad you've been born
Unto us
Unto us
Ah, you leave me torn and lovelorn
Ah, you leave me crying, ready to mourn
Ah, you leave me waiting for that eternal storm
Ah, you leave me happy and reborn
Ah, you leave me trying to break down doors
And waiting for more, waiting for more
Uncle Bobby
I love you, love you, Uncle
Uncle Bobby, you'll never know
Uncle Bobby, I love you, love you, love you, Uncle
Uncle Bobby, I love you so
Uncle Bobby
Uncle Bobby, I love you
Uncle Bobby, I love you so
Not like a husband to have and to hold
Not like a disciple who do what they're told
Not like a masterpiece that's been bought and sold
Not like the frontiers when love is gold
Not like the icicle love the winter cold
Uncle Bobby
I love you, Uncle
Uncle Bobby, I love you so
Uncle Bobby, I love you, love you, love you, Uncle
Uncle Bobby, you'll never know
Uncle Bobby
Uncle Bobby, I love you
Uncle Bobby, I love you so
Uncle Bobby, Uncle Bobby, Uncle Bobby

Ahhhh, someone who knows that they're talking about needs to comment on this song!
I love the song, but that it means confuses.
Does she (she being either Regina or just a character in a song that is in first person) just have an uncle she loves a lot? Is there more? Ahh!
i love this song too i feel like she might be talking about bob dylan, who she says is one of her influences.
firstly, it's played on guitar and not piano, which is rare for regina and bob always uses guitar. secondly, some of the rhymes are commonplace in his songs-especially in that "ah you leave me.." verse i could just be making this up since i love bob dylan and it's wishful thinking that yet another person could write a tribute song to him/about him..but that's the first thing i thought of when i heard this song
Re.:sugarmagnolias72 Yes! Definitely I think so. When I heard this song for the first time I thought it´s about Bob Dylan too :)
This song is so wonderful!
It's SO about Bob Dylan. It has to be!
I got the impression it was about a Manson-type who leads a cult/family and POV was of a follower.
The blind worship, the way Uncle Bobby's songs speak to them.
There was a children's show called Uncle Bobby, but it was popular before Regina was born, and only aired in Canada. I doubt it's relevant but it seems like a weird coincidence.
This song is definitely about Bob Dylan, she even sings it like him, which makes it all the more awesome. To me, the lines "But I'm so glad you've been born Unto us Unto us" could just as easily be about her, and I think most Regina fans would agree :)
Aunt Regina, aunt Regina, I love you so!
aunt regina ^W^
aunt regina ^W^
I agree! This is exactly what i was thinking! It is much like the song dimonds and rust by joan biez!
I'd rather not think this song is about Bob Dylan...but then, I have a friend named Bobby.
Is Uncle Bobby and Uncle Robert from Edit the same person?
