Choking Lyrics
Choking on these words
You can leave now
Oh haven’t you heard
You can leave now
We stand there like statues from different cities
Both warriors of the same war
Both victors of our territories
Why do I feel so small?
Oh you’ve got it all figured out
What will be will be
Fine work from a sailor’s hand
Who’s always running away
In between all your complex ideas
Found out how love should be
When you get the time to feel anything
Anything real for me
Oh you’ve got it all figured out
What will be will be
Fine words from a sailor’s son
Who’s always running away
I don’t want your sympathy
Don’t quote me another phrase
I understand all your philosophies
But it hurts me just the same
Choking on these words
You can leave now
Oh haven’t heard
You can leave now
You can leave now
Oh haven’t you heard
You can leave now
Both warriors of the same war
Both victors of our territories
Why do I feel so small?
Oh you’ve got it all figured out
What will be will be
Who’s always running away
In between all your complex ideas
Found out how love should be
When you get the time to feel anything
Anything real for me
Oh you’ve got it all figured out
What will be will be
Who’s always running away
I don’t want your sympathy
Don’t quote me another phrase
I understand all your philosophies
But it hurts me just the same
You can leave now
Oh haven’t heard
You can leave now

Robbie, that's a lovely sentiment but maybe he just doesn't love her.
I think men will crawl over broken glass to avoid telling a girl straight out.
I think he's choosing to run from the relationship that he has built up...or maybe slightly led on (Fine work from a sailors hand)
I love this part of the song: "I dont want your sympathy Dont quote me another phrase I understand all your philosophies But it hurts me just the same"
oh my god! where to begin? the doors guitar lick from "the end" wow this is as deep as it gets or as deep as i go relationships end it's never pleasant for the ender or endee, as it were to me, she's acknowledging the end not going easily, though this song is so hearfelt anyone who has ever been on either end of a breakup (and that's all of us) can feel what she is saying so eloquently touching touching touching
thank you!
I think its about two people liking each other over a period of time but when it comes to taking the relationship further he believes that he's got it all figured out - cause deep down he/she isn't really interested anyways....
To me, its about wanting to be with someone you love. But not being able to do that. As the other person (him) wont admit their feelings.
She has the most beautiful husky voice to accompany his single guitar and drum.
Just lovely and gentle.
