Fix what’s wrong, but don’t rewrite what the artist wrote. Stick to the official released version — album booklet, label site, verified lyric video, etc. If you’re guessing, pause and double-check.
Respect the structure
Songs have rhythm. Pages do too. Leave line breaks where they belong. Don’t smash things together or add extra empty space just for looks.
Punctuation counts (but vibe-editing doesn’t)
Correct typos? Yes. Re-punctuating a whole verse because it ‘looks better’? Probably not. Keep capitalization and punctuation close to the official source.
Don’t mix versions
If you’re editing the explicit version, keep it explicit. If it’s the clean version, keep it clean. No mashups.
Let the lyrics be lyrics
This isn’t the place for interpretations, memories, stories, or trivia — that’s what comments are for. Keep metadata, translations, and bracketed stage directions out unless they’re officially part of the song.
Edit lightly
If two lines are wrong… fix the two lines. No need to bulldoze the whole page. Think ‘surgical,’ not ‘remix.’
When in doubt, ask the crowd
Not sure what they’re singing in that fuzzy bridge? Drop a question in the comments and let the music nerds swarm. Someone always knows.
I know these lyrics are Hopelandic, but I hear Jonsi saying "look at you sigh". The phrase itself sounds sad, but the way says it, it seems happier. Kinda like he is in awe of this person because they are sighing of contentment. :)
yes, it is :) true that Jónsi (from Sigur Rós) signs something, but these "lyrics" dont mean anything . listen to sigur rós then you will understand it :)
jonsi's not saying anything, it's his signature "hopelandish," which is essentially gibberish that sounds good. as a huge fan of sigur ros, i was psyched when i started exploring the album leaf and found jonsi on this song.
unfortunately, it kind of sounds like jonsi's saying, "shoeside, lookout, shoeside," but of course it's only hopelandish.
shoeside lookout, shoeside is what i thought to before i lcame to this site... if you listen closely you can hear an occasional shoes... instead of shoeside... it happens like twice through the whoole song.... im high as fuh. good night everybody! btw my friend zach agrees to
any song that has sigur ros in it cant go wrong, and i am always excited to listen to this song, knowing that it has jonsi in it. plus, the album leaf are just amazing.
so does anybody know of any songs that sound similar to this one? how it's incredibly mellow, but also kind of sad? i'm not a huge album leaf fan, so idk if this is what the majority of their stuff sounds like, but i am in love with this song now. if anyone has any advice for similar things, please let me know!
