(((louds Lyrics
I'm a blind man
In a dark room
And I'm searching for that black cat
I gotta move before he moves
Cause I think he's crossed my every path
I'm a bad man
And you know that
But you're still standing on my doormat
With a mirror in each hand
And I'm gonna knock you down again
Mirror, mirror can't you see
That something's got a hold on me
And I'm not feeling very well
Mirror, mirror on the wall
I'm not sure who made you fall
I don't remember anything
I'm a blind man
In a dark room
And I'm searching for that black cat
I gotta move before he moves
Cause I think he's crossed my every path
I'm a bad man
And with that said
You drew a 13 on my forehead
I can't let you come back in
If you're planning on leaving me again
Mirror, mirror on the floor
You're showing me something I'm sure
Lying at my feet
Mirror, mirror all around
Each face lying on the ground
They're laughing at everything
I'm a blind man
In a dark room
And I'm searching for that black cat
I gotta move before he moves
Cause I think he's crossed my every path
I'm a sick man
So stay away
And baby stop walking over my grave
I've got half a mind to doubt
That my bad luck is ever running out
Mirror, mirror on the wall
It was me who made you fall
Mirror, mirror can't you see
You have got a hold on me
In a dark room
And I'm searching for that black cat
I gotta move before he moves
Cause I think he's crossed my every path
I'm a bad man
And you know that
But you're still standing on my doormat
With a mirror in each hand
And I'm gonna knock you down again
That something's got a hold on me
And I'm not feeling very well
Mirror, mirror on the wall
I'm not sure who made you fall
I don't remember anything
In a dark room
And I'm searching for that black cat
I gotta move before he moves
Cause I think he's crossed my every path
I'm a bad man
And with that said
You drew a 13 on my forehead
I can't let you come back in
If you're planning on leaving me again
You're showing me something I'm sure
Lying at my feet
Mirror, mirror all around

I think it IS about bad luck. I mean..black cat, 13 on my forehead..it's all pretty evident.
As far as Schuylar saying it's about magic, well I'd love to believe him since he wrote it, but he also does massive amounts of weed and was probably just saying it to say it.
This is easily <b>he is legend's best song</b> and one of my favourite songs for sure.
as for its meaning i wasn't sure for ages, it could be about a split personality or about bad luck in relationships or madness or completely nothing or heaps of things.
but to me the lyrics and the song are far too well constructed to have no meaning. My interpretation is about superstition, <b>bad luck and how people let it rule their lives</b> not seeing that they are the reasons for what happens to them. Schuylar says its about magic, isn't superstition magic?
to me, there are two points of view within the lyrics, the blind man (im a blind man...), and bad luck itself (im a bad man...). the blind man represents a common person (anyone), the bad man is the <b>voice inside his head telling him that all bad things are caused by bad luck</b> and it has a hold on them. Through the song the blind man discusses his problems with bad luck, how he tries to avoid it but fails and <b>it is evident that he blames bad luck for his misfortunes in life</b>. Finally he realises that he is the fault of his bad luck ‘mirror mirror on the wall it was me who made you fall’ (<b>the mirror is a symbol for his mind</b>) also realising that he had been blind to his own wrongdoings (not literally blind).
I could go into heaps of detail to what i mean but it would be too long but i have often thought it is a pretty interesting song and this is just one of many plausible interpretations im sure, when it comes to the crunch <b>its what it means to you and i guess this is just what i think</b>
great song with great female vocals inthere
I love the vocal solo, reminds me of Great Gig in the Sky by Pink Floyd.
I'm positive the song has do with the fact thats hes unlucky "That my bad luck is ever running out"
this part is just a guess... but i think it might also be a split personality type thing?, like during the screaming parts, hes a bad man, and cant control what he does... but when its the soft part ("Mirror, Mirror") hes himself, and feels sorry for what he did.. just a guess anyone else help me with this?
I could I agree with the split personality thing kind of, but I think it's more like our natural instinct (for lack of a better word). Sometimes we do dumb stuff, and then afterwards our mindset just completely changes, and you regret what you just did.
"Mirror, mirror can't you see That something's got a hold on me"
Anyway, that's my thought, you may have been thinking that anyway, or this could actually be a song about a guy with a split personality, with HIL it's hard to tell how deep the symbolism goes.
SatanicNerd seems to have my view. How he's a bad man and when he is singing Mirror, mirror he's himself.Or perhaps its just him calling out for help.
im pretty sure its about his bad luck in relationships. But also he realises that he may have some part in why they arent working.
I seen HIL on the peanut butt tour this past summer. Schuylar said himself that this song was about magic, although I dont see any references to magic in the lyrics.
In MY opinion the best by far He Is Legend song i fuckin love it!
