It think this song is one of the best from mew, soo sweet and lovely and quite sad too. Maybe this song its about a love, but they are like ending the realtion ship. Theres some fears from the past and now they've had come and thats giving them problems, he dont want her to be afraid anymore, cuz he is with her and he has always been...He is asking her to not forget what they've passed trough. She has doubts about her love, she maybe has been trying to get another relation or maybe she is just sick of that love she has. When she said: ”What if I said goodbye now? What if I, not knowing why, left you all behind on the ledge?” For me she is saying "i dont really know if im still loving you, thats why i want to leave" she wants to leave him, but then this part: I replied, that I knew now I was glad I did not push you off that time on the ledge For me he had doubts at the begining but he afront them and he stayed for her and with her, and he feels glad even knowing that she is not sure if she wants to stay or not, its pretty sad cuz he knows what she feels and maybe he is desapointed about that, but still he loves her... Thats the meaning of this song for me. Sorry about my english, im not soo good at it.
