Not Nice Lyrics
Always so still, I never will, be like you
And you never will strike, me better
It's always so clear, you never really hear, at all
And I fear, that you won't get better
As when you're not being nice,
You're not nice, you're not nice,
You're not nice
I'd rather leave you alone,
I'm gonna leave you alone
You've been quiet for so long,
Something was wrong,
You never say a word
So I know that you won't get better
That's your fifth drink,
Don't you think, that that's a lot?
Considering we've only been here for a little while now
When you're not being nice,
You're not nice, you're not nice,
You're not nice.
I'd rather leave you alone,
I'm gonna leave you alone
You're always so still,
I, never will
Be like you
And you never will strike me a better at all
Sometimes you're nice,
But when you're not nice, you're not nice,
You're not nice
I'd rather leave you alone,
I'm gonna leave you alone
And you never will strike, me better
And I fear, that you won't get better
You're not nice, you're not nice,
You're not nice
I'd rather leave you alone,
I'm gonna leave you alone
Something was wrong,
You never say a word
So I know that you won't get better
Don't you think, that that's a lot?
Considering we've only been here for a little while now
You're not nice, you're not nice,
You're not nice.
I'd rather leave you alone,
I'm gonna leave you alone
I, never will
Be like you
And you never will strike me a better at all
But when you're not nice, you're not nice,
You're not nice
I'd rather leave you alone,
I'm gonna leave you alone

its lovely isn't it. its quite a negative song but its done so beautifully. perhaps its about someone he knows who has problems but wont say, and drinks to cover them or hide and, well, is just 'not nice' as a result of their problems and drunkenness. he likes the person, i think the beauty of the song and its tenderness shows he cares, but that person's struggling and they change into someone he can't like who wont listen or try to help themselves and he's a bit fed-up.
these songs were only posted a few days ago!
i think its about an alcoholic family member thats been this way since he was a child, and as he grows he knows "i will never be like you," but yes..its also very tender and sad...so much internal battling
anyway i agree with wut heyjuderefrain said i think its sbout 2 guys r gonna break up...probably is because that someone hurt another one and wut the other one can do is just leave him...and there are so many things that r worth to say to him but just dont know where to say...and the only feeling is just so sad and lonely...and that's all his not nice brought....
welll sort of complicated....akways :-)
This song makes me cry. It's so beautiful, and it reallllllllly hits home with me.
I feel it's a story about either Chris's friend or lover having problems with addiction. The person becomes hostile when confronted, and is growing farther and farther away from Chris. Chris doesn't know what else to do, and doesn't want to be hurt by this person's angry defensive outbursts any longer, so despite the face that he fears the person won't get better, he leaves them alone. There's nothing else to do for them.
i believe the meaning of the song really explains itself. it's my favorite song by him, it's just absolutely beautiful. "you've been quite for so long. if something was wrong, you'd never say a word; so i know that you won't get better." something about chris is how he's able to make lyrics that can be so ... reapplied. people seem to be able to get different things from each song, each verse, each lyric. it's more than amazing. as is he.
It's about an alcoholic who is a belligerent drunk to the singer and how they feel about it or deal with it
reminds me of my friend. because she's like that. it's very rude and annoying sometimes.
