Woah I'm suprised that these guys haven't got more comments, considering all the coverage they're getting at the minute. I mean I saw the video for this on that music channel ''B4'' the other day. I was, like, shocked. And it is a damn good video. But an even better song. I agree with 'Sarawr'. This one really is an awesome song.

Madina Lake ARE the next big thing. They are amazing! My friend introduced me to them after seeing them at a Paramore gig. AWSOME! The video for this song is also amazing.

Okay.... this song's not about someone cheating... The character in the story has a dark past. A lot of things he can't tell people, in particular, his Partner (GF, Fiancé etc). He's a partial insomniac, and he's awake at night. The things have affected him in a bad way, hence having pills to stop his mind bleeding. He's told his partner things to cover his past, so she won't be suspicious, and also (possibly) to make her like him, hence the "I’m afraid to be alone". The chorus is like an open confession.... and also is thoughts on what would happen if he said - "my life's the flame, in a house of cards" - he's lied so much, that his entire life is a flame, that if he were to tell would burn the "house of cards" down - the home he's built with his partner. The first 2 lines of the second verse are obvious... in the second, he's trying to remove all his emotions, so he can feel again - feel like he's actually living In the bridge, the character laments the person the lies have turned him into... the person people believe he is. The next 2 lines are obvious.... in the last two lines, he says "And I know that you love someone / But that someone isn't me" - his partner is in love with someone (the person he pretends to be) but she doesn't even know the real person, before and behind the lies.

Anyway, that's how I see it. I realise the video hints at the whole "affair" thing, but.... it's just a video. They’re used to sell the song - not give the story to it.
