The Tower Lyrics

All along the river I ran in weald
As the autumn flower burning into
Blackberries, redberries

William, where is the tower?
I crawled through these hours
Begging the resurrection
My needs, my wants, my powers
Are thickets, tall and deathly

William, where is the tower?
I want to crawl inside
My lover lies at home
Sick and deadly, wanting
Blackberries, redberries

This song's never really bothered me. He can do better, obviously. But its ... tranquilising?

i think this is an amazing song and his lyrics for it are absolutely beautiful.

I suppose this has something to do with the Black Death theme that he keeps hinting at. It kind of shows a more emotional impact, that the illness is so horrible and terrifying that he's willing to ditch his lover.

This song is now known as 'The Thickets' if I'm not mistaken and it's a bit longer. It's going to be on The Bachelor.
