It was seven in the morning when the spark
Began to give. the bath was spilling over, my
Self pity spilling with it, so I, I fled the country
To start it all again and found myself in Paris in
The cemetery rain.

Dear Anne came to me and took me by the arm
Showed me old disasters embedded in the palm
Warned me of a lady with the sun behind her head.
With a a granite neck, a singer who can never sing
Again, but you, my love:

You must come, come to joy, turn your head to the sun
Its down to you, you can shine, you can shake all the
Sorrow from your palm, its down to you if you dare
To come to joy.

What was it I ran from, what burnt away inside?
Four hundred schoolboys and a lawyer at my side
Always running with these legs going nowhere
A ghost in the system, and angel on the stairs
But oh! this time

I shall turn, turn my head to the sun
They are marching out of me, one by one
Walking free. oh! they're going out of
Oh! I can feel it moving, this time I'm really moving.
Are you ready to come, come to joy well its really down to
You if you dare to enjoy, its down to you, hold the key
In your hands, it's all in the palm of your hands.

This really did save my life, too. it came to me as such a reliable instant confident booster... Makes me feel I can face anything out of my own strength. Most of his songs do have that inspired quality, this one together with overture and even teignmouth, a positivity flowing beaneath monumental melancholy at times, in this case, purest energy... I have recommended this song to so many people, hoping it would light just a spark of the serenity in them that it did in me the first time about 3 years ago... And just now, as I listened to it again, it made sense to me, never mind how it was intended, but:

i shall turn, turn my head to the sun.. they are marching out of me.. one by one walking free. oh! theyre going out of.... oh! i can feel it moving, this time i'm really moving.

I never seemed to get that one, but now I think why not... I just said it, didn't I? "They" is me and all those inspired by this energy, we are walking out of him thanks to his music, his example, his inpiration passed on. He is moving and moving us. To walk free. Contagious, that. Spread it on, I will.

Sorry if I've overshared;) Felt like it.

"it's all in the palm of your hands." when he performs, he throws his palm up while he sings this part. it's great, really.

this is one of my favorite songs by him. <3.

i stalked him at truckfest! for an hour and a half, only because i wanted to talk to him but was too scared after he'd played such an amazing set.
its all about when he was 18 and spent most of the year in paris, i think that was the same year he changed his name

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”
