Mary's surgeon
Called me urgent
Get down to ward?
And? make? my god
(who would date)? in the dark (one date in the dark?)
And for this ?????
I was (savoured)?
????????? and ????? bed
It went to my head

And (we kept her alive)??? (we kept our love)??? I think alive..

If your mouth keeps going where your mind won't go
You don't want to choke so chew it slowly
Nibble the edges on the kitchen floor
If it suits your taste, taste some more
If you worry that it's bitter like a barbie doll
Hold your nose and swallow it whole
If you worry that it's all gonna go to your hips
Roll it round on your rosy lips
If you worry that it's all gonna go to your thighs
Close your eyes for a big surprise....

And Mary's Surgeon
(Caught)? me certain
Brand new flavour
I can save her (savour)?
Such (pity)? in the (part)? beauty?

Mary, run away where we can't find you
Far away from smells that would remind you
Your hometown has burned down

But you will ????? look?
Staring at your face reflected in the fetid water
What shadows will it cast today
Familiar smells of fresh decay
Wish that you could flush yourself away

Complicitly leave your (mark?) definitely mark.

And Mary's Surgeon
Caught me purging
Lord God, save us
It's contagious
It's contagious
It's contagious

??????
Grow up ???????
?????? Catch us???

Oh dear. These lyrics coming back to haunt me...

This transcription was originally mine, that I posted to the Dresden Dolls message board years ago. It was only ever intended as a work-in-progress, in the hope that people would help me figure out the bits I wasn't sure about. But then every time anyone asked about the song, someone always ended up reposting this as it was. And now it's ended up here. Sorry about that, but it wasn't my fault.

Good to see somebody has sharper ears than me, at least. Nobody's managed to figure out that multi-tracked overlapping bit at the end, then?

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
