i too enjoy this song a lot, however i believe that he is singing more about a one night stand rather than an erratic partner. i can relate to your sentiment though, as i've had people who have come and gone as they please. i've also had people that are similar to the song... one nighters that i'd hoped to get to know, but in the end "she disappears". and i have to admit that i'm guilty of doing both situations to other people too.
it's good to know that these situations are universal though.
I love love love this song. Short and sweet... and makes me laugh every time. It's about that person that we all have in our lives at some point which you start liking and then they go off for a while then come and go as they please, and we're so captivated by them that we don't put an end to it. I have a few friends like that.
