It's On Senior...Go! Lyrics

Appreciated every word you said
Another hit and I swear it’s the last time
This should keep me in the straight and narrow
I’m such a sucker for the capital
She told me once
And that’s all it took me
To make me realize I’m starting over

It takes a strong boy
A strong push
And a reason to come clean
I’ve got a caddy and a pistol
That says this light is turning green
The sand is in my hair
And love is in the air
So keep the rag top down
Because the sun’s about to flicker out

There’s no way
This closet’s keeping me here
I’ve got to break away
This gun is all that I’ve ever known
They took my lover away
Now I have upped the stakes
This confession was my only sin

Captivated by the passing lights
Incriminated by my growing up
And out of status premonitions of their ways

It takes a strong boy
A strong push
And a reason to come clean
I’ve got a caddy and a pistol
That says this light is turning green
The sand is in my hair
And love is in the air
So keep the rag top down
Because the sun’s about to flicker out

There’s no way
This closet’s keeping me here
I’ve got to break away
This gun is all that I’ve ever known
They took my lover away
Now I have upped the stakes
This confession was my only sin

I hold this curse at arm’s length out
I’ve got every reason to believe
My gut says listen up
Listen up
Listen up

I hold this curse at arm’s length out
I’ve got every reason to believe
My gut says listen up
Listen up
Listen up

I hold this curse at arm’s length out
I’ve got every reason to believe
My gut says listen up
Listen up
Listen up

Can you stay
At least for just today
In this parody of hell
A cell of common law

There’s no way
This closet’s keeping me here
I have to break away
This gun is all that I’ve ever known
They took my lover away
Now I have upped the stakes
This confession was my only sin

I'm think that this song's about coming out as gay. Because "There’s no way This closet’s keeping me here" as in coming out of the closet and "This confession was my only sin" maybe he admitted to being gay and some people look at that as being a sin.

I love this song! i agree with fakeitthroughtheday about how it's about coming out. i think the beginning part explains why he turned gay, and the rest is about maybe that they chased his boyfriend away so now he wants revenge. the only part i dont understand is the part about the caddy.. it seems irrelevant.

'I’ve got a caddy and a pistol That says this light is turning green'-What I get out of it is committing sucide. Becuase a caddy isn't just for golf. It's also a case to put things in. So putting his gun in there. The light is turing green means that he's thinking about commiting sucide. Thats what I get out of it. I do agree with everyone else about this song is about being gay...kinda of obvous ...

Come to think about it...I highly doubt the song is being gay.

In my opinion, I think this song is about coming out of captivity, or restrictions.

"There’s no way This closet’s keeping me here" could mean 'there's no way this is gonna hold me back from being what I want to be.'

"I’ve got to break away This gun is all that I’ve ever known" could mean that all he's ever known to be sure or true is the 'gun' which could symbolize....something.

"They took my lover away" What took his lover away? That's the question. Drugs? Guns? Money? People? Disease?

"Now I have upped the stakes This confession was my only sin" Whatever it is, it's really important to him, so he's 'upping the stakes' and says that this confession was wrong, but everything else he'd done before was right.
