We Burn Lyrics

I've had a vision its clear to me now
I know what has to be done
Different religions cannot share a land
A plague and I have the cure

Chase them down, let them suffer in pain
Dig them down, they´ll be gone for a while
Evidence lost

We burn
Plunder and rape
Show them no mercy, just burn
Flesh turn to ash

Inspired by deeds that were done long ago
I know what has to be done
Filth of my land must be washed clean and pure
Now let the cleansing begin

Genocide?
Who will drag me to court?
There´s no crime if you do not get caught
I am the law. We burn

Privates, sergeants and generals hear
It's our chance we've been waiting too long
Your orders are: to start to burn

The Yugoslavian civil war

Have some respect, there was no such thing as a "Yugoslavian civil war". Croatia existed as a country of it's own since the 7th century and Yugoslavia was nothing else than a pact between Croatia and Serbia. The war broke when Croatia decided to terminate the pact, to which Serbia responded by starting the war. It's a homeland war.

This is a reply to Aletheus...There was no PACT of Serbia and Croatia, and the croatian country was conquered by Hungary in 14 centry and then by Austrians in 16th centry...Then after ww1 you was supposed to be occupied by Italy but Serbia formed Yugoslavia to save you infact in 1921 we waged a war against Italy to save you.And its Croatia started the war not Serbia...If i remember you commited a genocide on serbians in Serb kraina...

it's obviously about ethnic cleansing in Bosnia in the 90's under command of ratko mladic and radovan karadzic. There is a godd video on youtube about this song : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JCvUKpMQ4Kk

There was no ethnic cleansing of Bosnia.Let me give you a quick history tour...Bosnians have no REAL nacionality they were serbians, and declared themselfs as serbians eaven the musslim ones but then the Austrian empire invoked their FAKE sense of nacionalism and they seporated them from serbians and occupied them.Yugoslavia witch everybody hates is not SERBIA its founder was Serbia but all of the nacions whanted to join it becouse if theid dident they would be occupied by somebody or remained occupied. Now hear this,Bosnia was LIBERATED afther WW1 by serbian troops,UK,France and Russia offered serbians a choice to form Yugoslavia or...

You know I rly love listening to Sabaton but sometimes they just happen to annoy me, this would be one of those times.

The lyrics might indeed be pointed towards civil-war in old Yugoslavia and yes it was indeed a civil war, the worst kind of war, but that will not make the lyrics any more true...

The one-sided portrayal of conflict is never right...And in this case, well, the lyrics couldn't be more off the mark, those that lived in the old Yugoslavia and especially those that happened to live in Bosnia during the conflict know what I'm talking about...

It will take decades to fix everything that was destroyed during those years and I don't talk about material things.

Songs like this are not something that helps the process but do the exact opposite...

Memory

@Smorensky In my mind they sing about both sides, both finding a reason to kill civilians in this conflict.

In my opinion this song is about the Yugoslavian War in general, since the Bosnian Genocide is a part of the conflict.
