White Guilt Lyrics
L.A. lady you always look so uninspired
when you're hanging around
living with creeps and loving with liars
and everybody knows it's true
that all you're ever gonna be is entertainment
so entertain me
you shiver when they wake up
and once more before they're gone
and even when you're sleeping baby
you're barely holding on
L.A. lady I know your feet must be so tired
from standing on a corner stomping out cigarettes like they were fires
the daughter of a thousand men
you've got your mothers eyes and whorish skin
you're a train wreck
but that's entertainment
you shiver when they wake up
and once more before they're gone
and even when you're sleeping baby you're barely holding on
so throw your skin back in your clothes
and wipe the blood running from your nose
'cause if the price is right tonight anything goes
too many lines, one too many times
you're sharing the same vein
with your stage name
but it never quite feels the same
it never quite feels the same
I said, it never quite feels the same
you shiver when they wake up
and once more before they're gone
and even when you're sleeping baby you're barely holding on
so throw your skin back in your clothes
and wipe the blood running from your nose
'cause if the price is right tonight anything goes
too many lines, one too many times
you're sharing the same vein
with your stage name
but it never quite feels the same
it never quite feels the same

this seems to be on an eternal loop in my head, and i'm not annoyed by it yet so that's got to be good. as for a meaning..being a rather successful entertainer (maybe a stripper or similar) and having a fair few hollow relationships, getting a high out of performing, but not the same as from a more meaningful relationship (such as in their past?)because the work is hollow too? hmm.. xXx
wow only 1 person has commented on this song so far and i know them (mwahaha not in a sinister way). im loving this song, the music sounds so much happier than the meaning of the song. it sounds all summery (yay!)
That pretty much sums up the band in general.... This is about coke. That doesn't even need to be said....
I think its about more than coke, more like the true life of a 'celebrity'.
While I like the lyrics, I think this is my least favourite song on the album. It reminds me too much of the transplants which pisses me off.
surely its about prostitution prostitution for coke yeah? come on people , help me out here
It is pretty self explanatory, prostitution for drugs.
Not so sure about the prostitution or stripper aspects as people who do cocaine usually reflect the actions mentioned in the song anyways (this is coming from observing my friends in their cocaine experiences). White guilt = cocaine. Simple as that.
I i thought the coke bit was fairly obvious so apparently I didn't put in in my comment.. :S
ya the cokes not rly that big a part of it, n it has nothing 2 do w/ celebrity, no1 even knos who they are outside of LA, its about an LA street walking skank who maybe could of been more
Errm...im pretty sure its about cocaine and prostitution.....1) white guilt =cocaine 2)too many lines = of coke 3)wipe the blood running from your nose= from snorting coke. Prostitution 1) entertainment= prostitution 2)standing on the corner of streets...duh! 3) youve got your mothers eyes and WHORISH skin. from this its also obvious that her mother was a prostitute as well. the line "the daughter of a thousand men" shows that her mother slept with so many men she didnt know which one was the father.
