Breathing Slowly Lyrics

Who am I to save you,
To try and tame you,
And now that you are free of me,
But next time when you break down,
Is it me you'll take down,
With you on your knees?

So who was I to hurt you,
To desert you,
When you needed me there,
So now that you've learned to hate me,
You've finally set free,
A fall to my knees,

And I'm breathing slowly,
Like you said to do when you had lost control,
My head spins from God's wind,
That carries you away from me,
Looks like you got away from me,
This time,
For good...

And since those days have passed me by,
I'm in and out of life,
The way you used to be,
You know I always was the strong one,
But now I've come undone,
Sweetest release...(catch me)

And I'm breathing slowly,
Like you said to do when you had lost control,
My head spins from God's wind,
That carries you away from me,
Looks like you got away from me, This time,
You got away from me oh yea,
You got away for good...

Wow this song is great. i love the acoustic version a the best. but i think this song is about 2 best friends fighting and and have completely stopped talking. one friend was always going to to him for help and he never really went to to her for help cause he didn't have many problemes. but then he gets sick of saving her cause he always get dragged down. so since he was sick of helping her he basically left his best friend to to by herself. and it was reall hard for her to cope w/ everything and she had to find away hate him, as much as it hurt. now he's like o man i messed up i need my friend back, and he keeps remember all things they thaghu and did w/ each other. and he realizes he could have just lost his best friend forever and he can't get it. he became miserable with out her and he's being just like she was, and he's growing weaker and weaker and need her back to save him like he did some many times for her.

The feeling I get from this song is as follows...

Friend was living a life addicted to drugs. They had a falling out because the narrator felt he was being dragged down by helping the friend. Left the friend for dead in their time of need Narrator is drawn into the friends old habits and has no body to help him.

I could be wrong...

This song is really great, and just kinda stumbled upon it. Rocker said it best, when he mentioned that the acoustic version is much better. My thoughts were always that this was a guy that had a great girl, who took her for granted and finally in a moment 'when she needed him most' she finally left him and now his regret is weighing down on him and he understands that she's moved on to better things.

I agree with Kreveck because of the lines: "And I'm breathing slowly, Like you said to do when you had lost control"

Why else would his friend have lost control? Maybe it was depression or mood fits or something else? Just a suggestion. But apparently he made a huge mistake and now his friend has left him forever. It seems as though he maybe didn't intend for it to happen and it's irreversible. (interesting that all of you called it as a "she" when indeed it could have been a he as well)

I really love this song. It sounds so beautiful, and so mysterious.

i dont think the "lost control" line is about drugs but instead how he has lost control of his life and needs someone to help him like his friend did.

I've had friends tell me to regulate my breathing with random counting exercises and such when I have panic attacks. I think that's the thing to which the title refers.

this song reminds me of a girlfriend I had that moved and I stopped going to see her and that would have been her time of need and I stopped going to see her because I felt like she was seeing someone else... now I regret it because she really is seeing someone else...

I am in this position at this moment. "Sweet release" -from my ex. "My head spins" -from all the memories. "I always was the strong one" - I was there for him for anything and everything "So who was I to hurt you, to desert you" - I cheated on him and he wanted nothing to do with me and I left the state.

"But next time when you break down, Is it me you'll take down" - He's addicted again and I hope he doesn't ask me back into his life for anything.

Its just crazy, I love this song. I can't wait for a new Crossfade album.

I take it as he is speaking to an ex with mental problems panic and anxiety attacks and such where he used to be the only thing that could calm her down but now she is gone why would he Chase after her so she could bring him back due to her level the feeling that he betrayed her in his.own right so now she is gone when he thinks of her he has the same issues she had with panic he follows her advice which brings him down to his knees he used to be the sober strong one not he is in out of life due to grief of a lost lover she got away because he pushed her there now she is gone forever he hates himself for it
