Taking Back Control Lyrics
This home
This place
It turns its back on time and space
We hope
You pray
But today is still today
Oh we ran ourselves
Ragged and
All these broken backs
Tragically
We tried
You failed
Another mark you left in hell
This cut
Will run
But the guilt has just begun
Oh we ran ourselves
Ragged and
All these broken backs
Tragically
The future bleeds
These words conciet
Don't let it go
We're taking back control (x2)
This hole
You told
Left blood on every door
We hope
You find
Tragedy will change you mind
Oh we ran ourselves
Ragged and
All these broken backs
Tragically
The future bleeds
These words conciet
Don't let it go
We're taking back control (x2)
Take Control
The future bleeds
These words conciet
Don't let it go
We're taking back control (x2)

wow no one has commented on this yet? well i love it. i really like the background singing, especially on the 'we ran ourselves ragged...' part. i cant wait for Threes! [=
Actually I'm pretty sure it's saying "The Future bleeds, all these wasted seeds."
Remember seeing that in an interview...
Bluur your right Awesome new song from Sparta. Honestly thought they were done. Meaning self-explanatory about rebelling, perhaps continuing on from the anti-Bush album Porcelain. Rest of the album seems much more mellow compared to this song.
the CD version and the version in the video have different chorus lyrics. in the video everytime they say "the furture needs, all these wasted seeds" where as in the version on the record they only say that like the last i dunno...2 or three times

For some reason it just doesn't sound like Jim Ward singing the majority of this song. It almost sounds like someone else, with ward doing backups. His voice is really different on this album, he doesn't seem to be straining it like he did on Wiretap scars and Porcelain. I kind of liked that about his voice.
this song dominated my ears on first listen. vocals = great if great was the word for amazing. i can't say enough about it.
It's probably not right, but I like to think this song is about Jim Ward telling Cedric and Omar that they may have been more popular and generally considered a better band until now, but Jim thinks that with this record and hereafter, Sparta will prove to be the better band.
This song is so emotional...personally i belive it is about going through a hard time in your life...and trying to do something to "take back control" of your life...and just feel better about yourself. I love the lines like "This cut will run, but the guilt has just begun" and "The future bleeds"...
Now that i think about it this song is written more from the perspective of someone helping out a freind who needs you..."don't let it go, were taking back control" and "we hope, YOU pray" yah its deffinatley about one of their friends.
Jim said: "This is about changin' shit, that ain't fashion. Do it"
