I'll qualify this circumstance,
Broadcast, renew this chance.
Pin hope on this promise.
Graduate to this settled score.
Projects through mansion doors.
Stand up, dust yourself off.
It's troubled now by swelling tide,
Bleached hope and sandstone lies.
You're dazed in the moment.

This time I'll get it right.
You can't defend it, it's predetermined.

You know I'll sit at the bottom space,
Trace lines in the vacant space.
It's all about to change.
Small flat in a smaller town,
Steal hope to pass around.
You're caught up in the memory.

These shores aren't out of reach.

No idea here? Anyone got a clue? The only thing I can think of is predestination is the belief of sum prodestants that god has planned if you are going to heaven or hell before you are even born. Anyone play off of that?

This is a long shot, but I reckon it could be about Sparta themselves. EG. They got it wrong [well, not in my mind] with ATD-I, but this time, with this new band, they're gonna get it right. That seems fairly obvious to me. I could be wrong. Oh yeah, this song is incredible live - it rocks sooooo much. Peace Out.

Holy shit dude, you are very right about starting over again. Totally right im 100% sure. About the new band, could be, I don't actually know the story about what really happened, grand royal folded and then i dunno. But this song could also just be the mold for something to fit into any situation where you start over. Music is always personal to everyone. Damn they are great, ATD-I friggin rocked. Sparta will rock now. Scratch my last post, you convinced me

Yikes, this song is mad ill. I'm gonna miss that raw punk sound, but this makes up for it. I don't know if these guys got any beef or any thing, but the song sounds like their leaving all the stumbling blocks behind (including Omar and Cedric)and continueing to mature.

i think the entire AUSTERE EP is about starting over fresh and being like "hey, we can play music no matter what band we are in, without any crap pulling us down, we wont screw up". well, thats how i take it. ALSO, i believe, i could be wrong, that Cedric and Jim had several conflict about the whole ATDI thing...like Jim is who called the 6-month rule after they played a show in Germany(?)...then their van crashed...so it was all sort of building up and whatnot. So, to make a point now, I think Jim, Tony and Paul are kinda telling not just Cedric and Omar, but everyone who doubted them "this time i'll get it right". Thats just how i think it is...

Sparta is fantastic. It is a shame that ATD-I broke up.. but all good things must come to an end sometime. But I have a feeling that Sparta will be around for a long time and make the best out of each moment they have. I personally like Sparta over Mars Volta.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

American Town
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.
