Novocaine Lyrics

Dream a picture of how you see me, yeah
Pinch yourself and I'm there
Mouth the words to the song you hear
Listen closely, my dear
It's like we're almost there

Just a pinch of novocaine
If you won't be
The one to ease my pain
Just say my name
Sweet, sweet novocaine

Put your faith in a show
Everyone is waiting for you there
I can hardly see anything
Catch the world by it's tongue
Few more words and I'll be done, yeah
But will I ever really be?

Just a pinch of novocaine
If you won't be
The one to ease my pain
Just say my name
Sweet, sweet novocaine

Wake me, take me anywhere
That I don't have to be
You don't have to say my name
I don't have to be me

Just a pinch of novocaine
If you won't be
The one to ease my pain
Just say my name
Sweet, sweet novocaine
If you won't be
The one to ease my pain
Just say my name
Sweet, sweet novocaine

Call the extras to the set
And turn the lights up, oh oh oh oh
Aren't we finished yet?
I'm finished

Call the extras to the set
And turn the lights up, oh oh oh oh
Aren't we finished yet?
I'm finished

i think its about a girl who he is infatuated with and he wants to be with because he hurts because hes so lonely. hes saying if the girl wont be with him then say his name cuz it makes him feel good when she says his name...aka his novacaine...then at the end hes basically saying ive been doing this too long n hers moving on are we finished yet..im finished.

could be wrong but this is my interpretation

Maybe this is wrong, but I thought that this was out to the fans. That the fans recognition and love for them makes them ignore their troubles in life. It could be about relationships as well, but this is what I thought about it.
