In The Same Lifetime Lyrics
Lies in bed Not her bed
It's also half asleep, not half awake.
This is a beautiful song.
one of my favorites off of remember right now.
i really really like this one.

Fudge, I love this song. It reminds me of a relationship that probably couldn't move forward, the girl was probably having a few problems. He might decide to end it, he's been waiting for so long but, either way, they'll still love each other. I especially love the second verse.
'He lies in bed and paints her ceiling. Half asleep/awake but barely dreaming. Beside him, she sleeps.'
He shuts the door it locks behind. He checks his watch third past nine. He thinks to himself "Im late again" He climbs the steps he takes his time. Then all at once, the door swings wide to his new life.
Wonder if tomorrow he wont go. They'll both know. They're under the same sky. The same life.
She said "go forward you can't wait for this" Walking backwards never gets one very far.
She said "go forward you can't wait for this" Walking backwards never gets one very far.
Summer came and went so fast. The leaves all changed, and after that Fell blankets of snow. He lies in bed and paints her ceiling. Half asleep but barely dreaming. Besides him she sleeps.
Wonder if tomorrow he wont go. They'll both know. They're under the same sky. The same life.
She said "go forward you can't wait for this" Walking backwards never gets one very far.

Wonder if tomorrow he wont go. They'll both know. They're under the same sky. The same life.
Tonight.
I think these are the right lyrics, but I'm not positive with the last word.
He completely says "half asleep, but barely dreaming" this song is beautiful. i love it lots.
This song makes me think of when I graduated college and got a job offer 1000 miles away... discussing with my girlfriend "what should I do?". And she said "go for it, it's a great opportunity, you can't pass it up, it's what you've been working so hard for"... even though it meant leaving her behind, while she finished school herself.
I took the job, making frequent trips back to see her, but each time, it became more and more obvious that the relationship was faltering. The verse about the summer-changed-to-fall-changed-to-winter implies the passage of time, and that their relationship issues are still unresolved.
Ultimately, the relationship ended, but we'll always be "together" in a sense....under the same sky.. in the same lifetime....
