i never knew what "national absurd" meant. i guess most of johnny's lines made little sense.
I believe the reason they don't make that much sense is that I remember reading from an article the lyrics were written with words that were really easy for Johnny to sing and hit clearly. That's why they can do more with Tillian in the band now.
