people around him are telling him to stop all he's reckless shit cos it's killing him and he just refuses to stop drinking and he's useing....people around him as a safety net to fall back on when he crashes.... this is a really good song and i could relate to it

Wow, I think you people make it a lot more negative. In my opinion, it's about people thinking your life sucks, they want you to change it, but you won't. It doesn't have to be drugs, it could be starving artist, working a minimum wage job, or something along those lines. I mean, it could be about drugs or drinking, but I doubt that they would write a song that negative.

Its about his drinking& drug use and how he wont admit he has a problem and he "refuses to surrender" and get help because hes things hes fine, and hes telling his friends that while hes drunk and he becomes their responsibilty, not to think about the thinks he does, because he gives up, and he wants someone to catch him anyway he wont admit to a problem, but he wants them to help him

well, I think about this song as depression, not a drinking problem. Anyways, people around him tries to help him but he doesn't admit he have a problem.

I think it could be anything, and in a way it seems that he WANTS it to be tht way. It could easily be drugs, drinking or depression. It just a problem, and hes not willing to give it up. I can def relate to it though, Papa roach is osm!

I LOVE the entire Paramour Sessions, but i hate how nobody else does, I mean, is one of my favorite albums, and one of Papa Roach's best, but no one ever says how they love it. Well, i love these lyrics, I'm not really reckless at all, so I'd love to believe that these guys aren't either, but we all know who Jacoby Shaddix is, and I think how he's so confident of himself, even tho you don't relate to one especific theme, you just know, you love that "I Refuse To Surrender", and i loved innocent_sheep comment, Everyone can relate to that!!

Right now to me, this song is about exactly where I'm at. I'm almost done with high school, and people are telling me that I won't go anywhere, especially with certain choices I make, the message to me is that everyone around me telling me that my time is running out. Could be interpreted many ways though.
