The Last Goodbye

This is yet another powerful ballad by Zakk. While other musicians just pump out more and more stale crap, Wylde can inject anything with a bit of adrenaline and let it fly. This song is simple, like most of BLS's repetoire. It's basically about a man who wants to be with a woman just one more time, just so he can remember what it felt like so he live/die in peace. "Take this life" basically means he doesn't care if he's going to die, he got what he wanted all his life and everything else doesn't matter.

Oh, and "This ain't the last goodbye" means he'll be seeing her in heaven. Hell...the more you get into this simple songs, the more ways you can interpret it. I'll just stop now >.>

Yeah, I was with Okita-Kun, I thought it was about someone that passed away because one concert, I heard he dedicated this one to Steve Irwin and Dimebag...

I figured it is about somebody close to you dying. "Take me down this road, I've been here before" and "take me down this road, just to see the smile on your face" means "spend these last moments with me...let's remember the happy times we had in life". The one dying is trying to cheer you up. "Take all that you learned and received from me and keep it forever, that way I'll always be with you and you won't have to be sad" is basically what I got from it. "This ain't the last goodbye" pretty much means what it says, "I'll see you again in heaven". I was at my mom's house the other day and she told me she found out she may have cancer. I hung around for a while and put on a happy face, but when I got in my truck to go home, this song was on the cd I was listening to, and I squalled like a little girl.

a few minutes ago, i was on myspace and my friend posted a bulletin. she loves dimebag and pantera so much. so she posted a bulletin with with the video to this song. it was the tribute to dime. now im a huge dimebag and pantera fan myself. when i watch the video, i was trying so hard to keep the tears back but it didnt work. this is probably one of the best "metal" ballads ever written. this just further proves that no matter what zakk wylde does, he executes it perfectly. R.I.P. Dime. we all miss you so much. watch over us metalheads. keep shreading with cliff,jimi,and randy for us. ill see you when its my turn to see the big man above.
