New Religion Lyrics
Take me, raise me above
Take me, this undying love
What once was I wish I no longer see
Wings of hatred, come set me free
You are the air in which I breathe
You are the blood I drink in me
These words beyond forever true
My new religion is you
Forsake me
Its you that i serve
Take me
This undying love
You are the air in which I breathe
You are the blood I drink in me
These words beyond forever true
My new religion is you
New religion(x7)
Take me, this undying love
What once was I wish I no longer see
Wings of hatred, come set me free
You are the blood I drink in me
These words beyond forever true
My new religion is you
Its you that i serve
Take me
This undying love
You are the blood I drink in me
These words beyond forever true
My new religion is you
New religion(x7)

No One Commented On This ARE YOU KIDDING ME The First 1:39 Minutes Seconds Of This Song Is So Awesome
I have no idea what this one could be about, perhaps he feels that his religion is his music or something?
this is opener for the whole shot to hell tour, and a great one at that!

One of the best Black Label Society songs, hands down. It is set up so fluently... pure kickass metal.
You thought his Book of Shadows kicked so much ass? Thought his Mafia was the best? YOU BLOKES. BUY THIS FUCKING ALBUM, RESPECT THE BLS MOTHERFUCKER! =)
Let me take a stab at this...I am probably off by a longshot of what the original intention of the lyrics are but here I go with my interpetation. It could be that the person sees another as their othe half, their soulmate- for lack of a better term. their love for them is all that exists when they are together if any thing should happen to that connection , they will be crushed, broken, bent,etc... I gave it a shot.;)
No I disagree, I think it's a love song between a man and a higher being which created a new religion that he can call his own.
For me, New Religion has always represented an all consuming, new passion for another person. The lyrics portray sexual and emotional fire, lust, and an obsession--even when the targeted person does not reciprocate those same emotions: "Forsake me; Its you that I serve." Perhaps Zakk wrote about a fanatical...fan?
Incredible riff! I love it. Seeing the Zakkman flourish for the 26 years I have listened this is definitely one of his best. If I didn't know any better sounds like he got born again. Who knows. Only the Zakkman
I honestly think this song is about embracing Christianity. I don't know if it's a personal song for Zakk or not but the symbolism is all referencing overtly Biblical statements.
Maybe it is a love song but my first guess would be that its about religion literally.
