Ring the Alarm

I may be reading into this too much, but I think this is from the point of view of a married woman whos husband is cheating on her. Furious, and not loving him anymore, she wants to divorce him, but they have a prenuptial agreement, so instead, she decides to kill him, daring him to "ring the alarm" in that mocking way that black women have sometimes (believe me, I know). The bridge is her moment of plea, before she remembers what she was going to do.

Beyonce commented on the song, "It's energetic, aggressive and filled with hard beats". She explained that the album was completed in three weeks, which is the reason most of the record, including "Ring the Alarm" sounds aggressive. She further clarified that she didn't intend to write an angry song, "Swizz's ['Ring the Alarm'] had that tough vibe, like the guy had cheated, and I wanted to write something honest. If you're in a relationship, even if the man's cheating and you end up not wanting him, the thought of another woman benefiting from the lessons you taught him. "Ring the Alarm" features Beyonce as the female protagonist impersonating a threatened woman involved in a love triangle. She is unwilling to allow another woman to profit from all the efforts she put on to make her lover a better man. Beyonce's anger is due to her man's wandering eye, her desire to leave, and the thought of having to give him up to some unworthy woman.

first of all, beyonce and rihanna have no rivalry..

OKay, now to the comment.... Beyonce used to be one of my favorite singers when she had her first solo album. To me, this is the only original song on Beyonce's new cd, along with Irreplaceable. I thought the new album had no real thought and she's losing all of her creativity and relying too much on her status. Deja Vu, even though I like it, it a recycled version of Crazy in Love. Upgrade U just shows how conceited she's really getting. Green Light, Suga Mama, Kitty Kat are mediocre at best. Get Me Bodied was kinda good for a little while, now it's just annoying. And Freakum Dress was just stupid.

And then she has the nerve to release the deluxe edition. Even though Beautiful Liar is a cool song, nobody cared about it or the new song. Yet she still gets so many props because she's Beyonce. She's become so well established just because of her connections and beauty. Her talent is slipping. And other, younger R&B/Pop singers, such as Rihanna and Ciara, are improving.

She has a wonderful voice, but wasting on stupid lyrics and making a rushed, lackluster cd and depending simply on your rep is dumb and sad. Because if you don't work hard, good things don't last forever...

Oh, and I just have to add that the "When I need answered accusations, what you mean you gon' choke?" part is indicative of that while she's questioning him, her hand is apparently gripping his neck.

I totally agree with Ian-sama. She has compeltely lost it and wants to kill him. Hence the "ring the alarm" and the police.

The red lipstick at the end was cool to, although I didn't get it?

I'm slightly ashamed to admit that i kind of like this song.
