Losing My Way Lyrics
Yeah
Yeah, uh, excuse me
Hi my name is Bob and I work at my job
I make 40-some dollars a day
I used to be the man in my hometown
Until I started to lose my way
It all goes back to when I dropped out of school
Havin' fun I was livin' the life
But now I got a problem with that little white rock
See I can't put down the pipe
And it is breakin' me down
Watchin' the world spin 'round
While my dreams fall down
Is anybody out there?
It is breakin' me down
No more friends around
And my dreams fall down
Is anybody out there?
Can anybody out there hear me?
Cause I can't seem to hear myself
Can anybody out there see me?
Cause I can't seem to see myself
There's gotta be a heaven somewhere
Can you save me from this hell?
Can anybody out there feel me?
Cause I can't seem to feel myself
Losing my way
Keep losing my way
Keep losing my way
Can you help me find my way?
Losing my way
Keep losing my way
Keep losing my way
Can you help me find my way?
Now you gotta understand
I was a family man
I woulda done anything for my own
But I couldn't get a grip on my newfound rich
So I ended up all alone
I remember where I was when I got my first buzz
See I thought I was living the life
And the craziest thing is I'll probably never known
The color of my daughter's eyes
And it is breaking me down
Watchin' the world spin round
While my dreams fall down
Is anybody out there?
It is breaking me down
No more friends around
And my dreams fall down
Is anybody out there?
Can anybody out there hear me?
Cause I can't seem to hear myself
Can anybody out there see me?
Cause I can't seem to see myself
There's gotta be a heaven somewhere
Can you save me from this hell?
Can anybody out there feel me?
Cause I can't seem to feel myself
Losing my way
Keep losing my way
Keep losing my way
Can you help me find my way?
Losing my way
Keep losing my way
Keep losing my way
Can you help me find my way?
Oh my God forgive me (Father hear my prayer)
Cause I know I've done some wrong in this life
If I could do it all again
Have just one more chance
I'd take all those wrongs and make them right
Can anybody out there hear me?
Cause I can't seem to hear myself
Can anybody out there see me?
Cause I can't seem to see myself
There's gotta be a heaven somewhere

Rob may have one syllable too, but it's just a different way of saying the same name (Robert, Bob, Rob, Robby/ie, Bobby/ie etc....).
There's nothing wrong with choosing Bob, that and John are two "faceless" names in American culture (very generic). Changing it to even Bobbie would have echos of Robert Kennedy to some older folks, and using Rob is kind of definitive in my eyes as well. But Bob...could be anybody. Maybe that's just how I see these names though.
But the use of the name doesn't change the song for me at all. I never even though it was "silly" like some of you here have. I'm surprised the use of such a name would turn anyone off of a song.
Anyway, to comment on the song, it's a very touching song and the meaning of which is plain as a summer day is bright. JT never had my respect as a member of N-Sync when my younger sister listened to them. And I was slow to adopt his previous album, as he sounded like a "wannabe" Michael Jackson. And though that is still true on his latest for the most part, I find myself enjoying his stories and overall "fun" in his songs. The beats don't hurt either.
This song is BEAUTIFUL. Obviously about a man who's lost his way in the world of drugs. The line: "And the craziest thing is I'll probably never known The color of my daughter's eyes" gave me goosebumps when I first heard it.
This song is very touching for me. Both him and Pink song "who knew" are very real life touching. Drugs are such an important issues in these days, it should be adressed! My hat goes down for Justin and Pink.
This is a very touching one, I agree...
Bob has to be the worst possible name. I laugh when i hear it but the rest of the song is very serious/touching.
This song is one of the most real songs he's made. Maybe the real song....idk. But its one of my favorite, and I think that this one is strong and you can feel it.

clearly its about "bob"'s addiction to crack.
having someone extremely close to me with the same addiction, this song really speaks to me.
When my friend burnt me a CD full of Justin Timberlake music, I wasn't so sure. But if anything it was worth it to get this song.
if JT has another single I have the weird feeling it'll be this song.. haha
i really like this song. i agree with the comment about the song being so real..
