The Third Temptation Of Paris Lyrics
The horizon, now as dark as the crimes that brought them here,
is filled with my impending dread
my foolish actions will cost so many good men
Achilles has come...
a thousand sails approaching
sent here in her name to reclaim the one I stole
and destroy the walls of Troy
desire leaves me numb to all the pain surrounding me
storms will arise to condemn me
I will not die before her eyes...
it ends tonight
desire leaves me numb to all the pain surrounding me
storms will arise to condemn me
I will not die before her eyes...
it ends tonight
tragically I now must accept the penance I have earned
she is cursed and tonight we die
in the dawn of this, my end, I hold my sword true
I must let her go...
a thousand sails approaching
sent here in her name to reclaim the one I stole
and destroy the walls of Troy
desire leaves me numb to all the pain surrounding me
storms will arise to condemn me
I will not die before her eyes...
it ends tonight
it ends tonight, I am alone
pain fills her eyes, I am alone
I must save my honor, I cannot let them win, the blood of many spills
sacred and profane is our love in death...
is filled with my impending dread
my foolish actions will cost so many good men
Achilles has come...
sent here in her name to reclaim the one I stole
and destroy the walls of Troy
storms will arise to condemn me
I will not die before her eyes...
it ends tonight
storms will arise to condemn me
I will not die before her eyes...
it ends tonight
tragically I now must accept the penance I have earned
she is cursed and tonight we die
in the dawn of this, my end, I hold my sword true
I must let her go...
sent here in her name to reclaim the one I stole
and destroy the walls of Troy
storms will arise to condemn me
I will not die before her eyes...
it ends tonight
pain fills her eyes, I am alone
sacred and profane is our love in death...

Um, this is pretty straight forward, Fall of Troy sung from the point of view of Paris. I love how this song and Nero's Decay are on the same CD though considering Nero recited The Fall of Troy while Rome burned it seems fitting.
Very intense.
I always wondered why Alesana has these songs about shit you can't relate to..still an awesome song.
This song proves to be very relatable...what lyrics are you reading? Obviously not Alesana's.

It's the person that connects to the song, not the song that connects to the person. Because I can connect to every single one of their songs... I think you just aren't reading into the lyrics.

its really all there. Paris's temptation was helen of sparta. and then she married paris and she became helen of troy. and then a war broke out. Paris did not want to look weak in front of helen so he had to fight bravely
this song is really beautiful the girl singing is melissa milke, the sister of shawn, the guy with the beautiful voice. it must run in the family.
this is a great song.
OMG i can't believe that only 1 person has commented on this song... it's sooo good.. to me it's about somebody that's fighting for someone else, and in the end it's only him/her left and they can't give up or something bad will happen to the person that he/she is fighting for.
omg Psikou... If Alesana can't relate to these stories then noone can! To take a piece of literature like the Illiad and write lyrics this amazing... based on something that vague... wow....
You think this one's amazing? Check out Nero's Decay
This song is absolutely beautiful. I friggin' love Alesana!
The fact that they can go from hardcore screaming (Which rocks!) to a beautiful slower song like this, and sound absolutely amazing either way shows how talented they really are.
Alesana usually uses these types of stories to convey an underlying meaning (examples:A Siren's Soliloquy and Nero's Decay). I'm just not sure what this one is about. Either way it is a beautifully written song and well preformed.
