Cheek to Cheek Lyrics

Heaven, I’m in Heaven,
And my heart beats so that I can hardly speak;
And I seem to find the happiness I seek
When we’re out together dancing, cheek to cheek.
Heaven, I’m in Heaven,
And the cares that hung around me thro’ the week Seem to vanish like a gambler’s lucky streak When we’re out together dancing, cheek to cheek.
Oh! I love to climb a mountain, And to reach the highest peak, But it doesn’t thrill me half as much As dancing cheek to cheek.
Oh! I love to go out fishing In a river or a creek, But I don’t enjoy it half as much As dancing cheek to cheek.
Dance with me
I want my arm about you;
The charm about you
Will carry me thro’ to Heaven
I’m in Heaven, and my heart beats so that I can hardly speak;
And I seem to find the happiness I seek
When we’re out together dancing cheek to cheek.

my grandmother use to try to sing this to me when i was young. of course - she hardly spoke a word of english and it's almost comical looking back on it now, but i can't help but smile whenever i hear this song.

This song is the song John Coffey listens to in The Green Mile, that's why I like it :)

When you hear Louie Armstrong sing it with Ella Fitzgerald, he changes it to "I'd love to climb two mountains" and if you listen to the way he follows THAT up with "I like to go out fishing" you can tell EXACTLY what he's thinking about.

I'm not saying that's what the song was about, but .. that's exactly what the song is about. XD
