I am pretty sure this is about someone who is just coming into adulthood and is finally stepping into the real world. It is nothing as they had expected when they were young and now that the time has come for them to go out on their own they are a little bit confused as to what to do with they're life. Being confused they decide to take whatever comes to them, they don't like this but they are scared to actually go for what they think they want because they may not want it later.

Metal isn't satanic, that's one of the biggest stereotypes ever. Most metal bands I know of are ATHEISTIC. Atheism is the denial of such things (God, Devil..) and then some more. Big difference.

Thrid album-opener in a row with Smith/Harris as writers/co-writers, and this song kicks both Wicker Man and Wildest Dreams ass!
I think this song is about the every day person who's a little mucked up in the head after some complicated situation that they've been in, and that little by little they're learning that the complicated stuff in life isn't the most important, but the small things that make you happy and smile.
