The meaning seems pretty obvious- regret at letting her previous boy go, but, if you'll let me, may i share my story with this song?

I had a nasty issue with a teacher, she gained my trust, then after I bared my soul to her, she dropped me on the floor for dead. She doesn't care about what she's done... but anyway.

And do you still touch her like you do- To me this is the contact she has with all the other students.

And kiss her all over in the way I kissed with you- She "kisses" all her students with complements, petnames, smiles, laughter, care, she used to do the same to me, but now, nup.

And when you sleep with her -have one on ones Do you sometimes think of me Not if you love her in the way I see- Not if she's treating you like that.

I wanted to see Wanted to be Alone if I needed I had to be free Had to be free From feelings that haunted- I saw her eyes constantly, the memories, regret, etc.

And then in the evening lights- After school When the bars of freedom fall I watch the two of you- see her conversing with another girl, In the shadows on the wall- low sun And when the darkness steals Some of the choices from my hand Then will I begin to understand- understand why it's like this.
