Once In a Lifetime Lyrics

Let me dive in
To pools of sin
Wet black leather on my skin
Show me the floor
Lay down the law
I need to taste you more

Then I feel your sea
Raining down on me
Can this be my once in a lifetime
Hell's at heaven's door
As I need you more
You know you're my once in a lifetime

When you take me
And make me cry
Then I feel you satisfy
Show me the cage
It's all the rage
And lock it up

Found a part of me
That's a mystery
That will be just once in a lifetime
When the moon is high
Passion never dies
Will you want me for a lifetime

Once in a lifetime
Once in a lifetime
Once in a lifetime

Giving you my soul
Letting you control
Took away a part of my lifetime
Memories of you
Let me black and blue
Now I know you're once in a lifetime

Then I feel your sea
Raining down on me
Can this be my once in a lifetime
Hell's at heaven's door
As I need you more
You know you're my once in a lifetime

Found a part of me
That's a mystery
That will be just once in a lifetime
When the moon is high
Passion never dies
Will you want me for a lifetime

Alright, I'll start the ball rolling.

It takes a little bit to understand this song, as it's upbeat tone and rather impressive chorus full of double meanings (Once in a life time - Is that a good or bad once in a life time?).

Eventually it hits you like a ton of bricks. She's in an abusive relationship, and has finally gotten out of it in the last stanza, determind not to get into one again, to make sure he was really 'Once in a lifetime.' It's sad to think that he probably won't be the last too, and it's probably intentional that the song ends with that thought.

i respect what you said, but disagree i think it is a song about a relationship based on love-and-hate feelings but that, at the end of the days turns out to be what she wants "i need to taste you more" i believe she says the "once in a lifetime" is that she finally found her soulmate and is enjoying his company so much, she has just found "a part of me that's a mystery"

I kind of thought it was about BDSM.

i believe iit is entirely about D/s bdsm and tpe, it is all about 'the one' that you hope for and yearn for all of your life and might have a once in a lifetime chance of being with; a good many of her songs are filled with references to the D/s lifestyle but commenting on this particular one -- one of my favorite songs of all time -- the first stanze 'let me dive in to pools . . . taste you more' is her request to be controlled -- i'd better stop at this point and see exactly how this site works. there is a good deal more involving symbolism in the song as well . . . vixen
