Seems like a positive song at first, but I think he's being sarcastic. Although he's been mistreated by this woman, he's going to give it a shot, so everything's good right? Things are looking up, right? He knows it's stupid, but he's gonna do it anyway. Perhaps there are a couple different scenarios in the song, but each time he goes into it knowing it's a bad idea, but he's gonna do it anyway.
That's my initial take, at least.
