Mi ritorni in mente Lyrics

Mi ritorni in mente
bella come sei, forse ancor di più
Mi ritorni in mente
dolce come mai, come non sei tu
Un angelo caduto in volo
questo tu ora sei in tutti i sogni miei
come ti vorrei, come ti vorrei

Ma c'è qualcosa che non scordo
ma c'è qualcosa che non scordo
che non scordo ...

Quella sera ballavi insieme a me
e ti stringevi a me
all'improvviso, mi hai chiesto lui chi è
lui chi è
un sorriso, e ho visto la mia fine sul tuo viso
il nostro amor dissolversi nel vento
ricordo, sono morto in un momento

Mi ritorni in mente
bella come sei, forse ancor di più
Mi ritorni in mente
dolce come mai, come non sei tu
Un angelo caduto in volo
questo tu ora sei in tutti i sogni miei
come ti vorrei, come ti vorrei

Ma c'è qualcosa che non scordo
ma c'è qualcosa che non scordo
che non scordo ...

Ma c'è qualcosa che non scordo
sei un angelo caduto in volo...

Very beaytiful Italian song... I'll try to translate it before to comment the lyrics...

You return in my mind, beautiful as you are, maybe even more... You return in my mind, sweet as you never was, as you are not... An angel fallen in flight, this now you are, in all the dreams of mine how I would want you, how I would want you...

But there's something I don't forget but there's something I don't forget I don't forget...

That night you was dancing with me and you was keeping me tight suddenly, you asked me who was he who was he?? A smile, and I saw my end on your face our love to fade in the wind I remember, I was died in a moment...

But there's something I don't forget you're an angel fallen in flight...

.... I tried to translate these beautiful lyrics, trying to preserve the disposition ow words and the true meaning of the Italian text... It's about the remembering of a past love, and of a moment that the lover can't forget, when his love had found another man to love, and leaved him all alone with a broken heart... There's a wonderful image of the angel fallen in flight, living in tre dreams of the writer...

For ones that know the most beautiful language in the world (Italian of course... ;D)... read the lyircs in original language... extraordinary... also great Battisti in his interpretation of the song...

excellent translation. I have one difference in mind, though,..I'd translate "dolce come mai" as "sweet as ever"...because in the first two stanzas he's not denigrating her, he's worshipping her memory.

Yes, it definitely talks about a night in which the love of the singer/protagonist meets another one and leaves and/or betrays him for the "new one".

I don't know why, buy I've always had problems in understanding the meaning of songs, and this one was no exception. Then one day, during another listening, it dawned on me (and yeah, it was actually pretty obvious :D ): "hell, this song talks about this poor guy who was left with a broken heart and the thing that come back in his mind it's that night!".

Yeah, very beautiful song. I love Battisti, such an "Italian" singer, always dealing about love, beach, women :)

the lines: "se e qualcosa che non scordo"...I think they got it wrong,..should be "c'e cualcosa che non scordo" ..anyway, wonderful song. The entire song revolves around the line "un sorriso",..it's a moment so transient, fleeting, and yet it profoundly changed the course of 3 people's lives.

@norm113633 yes to both your points,..it is c'e cualcosa, and how the entire drama pivots on an almost casually tossed out "a smile"...what writing! I love the second time Lucio sings the line "dolce come mai"...like his words are falling off a cliff of profound despair, along with the instruments.
