i think it's about losing a love or a friend to distance, "i'll blame it on the planes, those god damn planes."

this song is my favorite, hands down.
oh and btw it's "precious four years of my life" as opposed to "photos". from "are you willing to give up those nights.." to the end are my favorite part of this song. simply amazing.

dave said this song is about how he cheated on his girlfriend, and tried to blame it on her for being away all the time.
You know, I actually did the same thing. I was with (no sex) another guy for a few days while my boyfriend was away. He had lived away at college for two semesters and for the summer he was living away, too. And I couldn't take it. I, obviously commenting on this in 2006 and three years before my lapse in judgment, never really got deep into this song until this past summer when my world came crashing down.
