(do do do...)

Don't walk away from this
It's on your fingertips
Babe, you can't deny there's something there
Tell me what you think about me

Talking to you day and night
Never know what's on your mind
Break it up and build it down
If that meant you would dream about me

Everybody tells you that they live for meaning
Did I ever mention that the meaning is you?
I'm sick of wasting time and lying to each other
'Cause I do, what I do, but I swear it's all because of you.

Try to take advantage of the time we have
If I'm down, when I'm with you it makes sense somehow
Don't let me hit the ground.

(do do do...)

Want to feel it on your lips
Something that I can't predict
Believing in a feeling isn't something that I'm used to
But I'm, opening my eyes a bit
Wondering if I can commit,
You know it would be easy
If you said you couldn't live without me

Everybody tells you that they live for meaning
Did I ever mention that the meaning is you?
I'm sick of wasting time and lying to each other
'Cause I do, what I do, but I swear it's all because of you.

Try to take advantage of the time we have
If I'm down, when I'm with you it makes sense somehow
Don't let me hit,
Don't let me hit the ground.

I've been having trouble sleeping when you're gone
(sleeping when you're gone)
I don't do too well out on my own.
But when I wake up and you're sleeping in my arms
(sleeping in my arms)
Any place could feel like home.

Everybody tells you that they live for meaning
Did I ever mention that the meaning is you?

Try to take advantage of the time we have
If I'm down, when I'm with you it makes sense somehow

I know these moments are hard to find
So we're taking our time, making sure that we do this right.
People telling us, love is blind
That's why we're finding it hard to read between the lines

I know these moments are hard to find
So we're taking our time, and we're trying to get this right.
People telling us, love is blind
That's why I'm finding it hard to read between the lines

(do do do...)

Wow ellie, you posted the lyrics pretty fast. Thanks for doing that. I really love this song and have been listening to it non stop since Dave posted it on his myspace. Great lyrics, great song.

Honestly though, I went to his myspace Sunday for the first time in a good 6 months. I saw that he had new songs and I thought I was late, so I came here to read the lyrics, and they weren't posted. So, I posted them anyway, then found out a few hours later that he had just posted the songs that day.

But yeah, I love these lyrics. "Everybody tells you that they live for meaning Did I ever mention that the meaning is you? I'm sick of wasting time and lying to each other 'Cause I do, what I do, but I swear it's all because of you." lovelyyyy.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Head > Heels
Ed Sheeran
“Head > Heels” is a track that aims to capture what it feels like to experience romance that exceeds expectations. Ed Sheeran dedicates his album outro to a lover who has blessed him with a unique experience that he seeks to describe through the song’s nuanced lyrics.

There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
