C'mon, C'mon Lyrics
I think it's a song about starting over. Whether in life, in a relationship, in whatever. Basically saying there's always time to start again. Really nice song.
this song is so beautiful. it gives me chills. shirvs, i agree with you, it is about starting over. we can have second chances. still wondering if there is a deeper meaning but yeah, starting over sounds right.
^ Yeah definitely.
It could also be about being in a new relationship. "let's not be our parents... let's follow this through... We've got the rest of our lives to live out All these dreams we stayed up tonight talking about In the morning, start hoping Nothing too soon"
"In the morning, start hoping WE'D NOT BE too soon"
what album was this on originally? I've got the "remix" from the bonus tracks of Oh! Gravity, but from the lyrics, it looks like there's an earlier version. Great song.
It hasn't been on any albums to date. I got it on the Oh! EP you got if you ordered Oh! Gravity online.
I'm leaning toward this song being about a relationship, more specifically a marriage. Largely from the 'Let's not be our parents.' I guess these days divorce rates are through the roof and so, while he may not mean his parents in particular, he's just referring to so many parents in the world who leave their relationships.Maybe it's written just after a fight with words they'll regret but it's just saying there's always time for a new beginning. But as said, it could be about starting over in anything
I think it means that every generation has its own lessons to learn, that we should not be immobilized by the previous generations'mistakes (no judgement either because we'll make our own) but learn from it. That we shouldn't be wallowers but doers. It's not just a power that we have within us, but a responsibility; we have so much to look forward to if we MOVE. Most of all...HIS mercies are new every morning.
I think this song is a call to action. About not sitting around talking about your dreams of how this world could be better, but actually doing it-making your dreams a reality.
I just heard it on the background of the "behind the scenes" of a movie entitled Bella... it echoed the movies themes about pain and life and redemption - a really fantastic film that made me cry and just strips the overhyped hollywood films flooding the world... a "real" story about real pain and conflict... the song tracked the same emotions so precisely that I had to find out who it was by and buy it... watch the movie...
I love how Jon uses a movie a play as the symbol of our lives. We're all doing the same exact act and it hasn't gotten us anywhere. 'C'mon,C'mon,C'mon let's not be our parents.' refers to the idea that we can finish what was started. Our parent's, predesecors all started something and we can finish it. We're the completion, something new.
