Knocked Down Lyrics

One hundred million souls have joined together
And hope for something better
A daring just ask a question
Why does all this work?
Cause the answers have all lost their meaning
They got us all believing
We really have a future
And who will get there first?

Knocked down, stumble and you fall
Sit down, find some use for it all
No way, walk before you crawl
When will you fall?

So many hopeless lives have been forgotten
To feed it once too often
Just hoping to find resolution
To rule by greater force
When we search, we find no solutions
A dream of revolution
But they find we're part of the problem
Just tell me why this works

When will you fall?
(When will you fall?!)

Knocked down, stumble and you fall
Sit down, find some use for it all
No way, walk before you crawl

Knocked down, stay down

(When will you fall?)

I think it's about how just some few people get everything, while others don't have much, like the rich and the poor. And why does this system work?

I'm thinking the first verse says that people are starting to question what the point of life is. Why he chose a million as the number might have some significance but I don't know. And I think the part where he says: A daring just ask a question, why does all this work? Cause the answers have all lost their meaning. Is about how religion tries to give us answers but is becoming obsolete in their reasoning.

The chorus seems to go back and forth, sort of arguing with itself. First it says: Knocked down, stumble and you fall. Meaning that everyone gets knocked down sometimes, pretty straight forward. Then says: Sit down, find some use for it all. Maybe it means to find some humility in what got you down. But then it says: No way, walk before you crawl. Possibly saying, screw that, get up off the ground and make things better. But it switches yet again to: When will you fall? And that's just saying that in the end you're going to get knocked down for good anyways.

Maybe I'm just over thinking the chorus, but with all the going back and forth it seems to me like it's just talking about the vanity of life in that we're all going to fall.

The next verse I think also has a religion back round too, talking about people trying to find answers by God. But the next few lines is just saying that no matter how much pondering you do you won't come to much of a conclusion other than that Earth isn't some happy blissful place. And I think it also puts more emphasis on how vain things are.

I am surprised no one has commented on this great song.

I am trying to figure out how exactly I take this song, I mean, it seems forward but I can't say what I think.

Same. It's a great fucking song, but it has a lot of different meanings in it that can be used.
